How does the Cement paint (and Tacoma paint in general) stand up to time? Getting mine soon and still debating on the paint protection film. If it was a couple/few hundred I'd probably go for it just for peace of mind, but looks like to get bumper, hood, and fenders done when new it is ~$900! That seems pretty crazy for just a bit of extra paint protection unless the color is REALLY thin and susceptible to chipping.

Replaced my bedside decals with some matte black ones. Really wish I could do more with the truck like lift, wheels and tires but I have a wedding to pay for next July. On the bright side, the lady told me I could do one more big purchase and she told me decide between tint and tires. Would’ve been an easy decision but I’m considering going with 17’s lol

Paint protection is well worth it IMO. Just think of how much it will be if you ever need to get your front bumper or grille surround repainted, and then have to hope and pray that the color actually matches. Ive never been a fan of aftermarket paint jobs, mainly because I've never had a good experience with them.

What brand of PPF are you looking at? Another great option instead of traditional PPF would be Autoflex Spray Shield. It's spray on paint protection that covers entire panels so you don't have those ugly lines all over the hood and fenders. I did Spray Shield on my front bumper and grille surround. Awesome stuff.

Right now just looking at the official Toyota accessories page on what I can add-on to my new truck coming hopefully end of next month. Not sure what they use.

How much did the Spray Shield run you?

FUCK YES!!! I've been waiting to see these in gunmetal on a cement, because I've been on the fence of what color to get. Order them Friday. I'm otherwise stock I got 16x8 3.5BS, so it won't look nearly as good as yours... but damn thats a great looking truck!

EDIT: You should make a build thread.

I've had PPF on my last four cars before getting my Audi last year, and I skipped the PPF. My experience over the past few years has been the PPF gets beat up too, and the only way to fix it is to replace it.

I've gotten really good with using Dr. ColorChip, and have yet to have a chip I couldn't repair.

Now, to be fully transparent, my car and truck are not exposed to environments where flying debris is a daily problem. If they were, I'd probably invest in PPF. But like I said above, PPF is not the end all; it will get punctured so keep that in mind.

I'm getting the Xpel Ultimate full package for my Tacomas (Cement and Cavalry Blue). The paint on these new trucks seem a little weak. The full coverage will be full food, fenders, bumpers, headlights, door handle cutouts, and side mirrors. I'm paying a little extra for the A-pillars and the front part of the roof as well.

I have Xpel Ultimate on my truck. I'm really happy with it. Plus it has the self healing properties. If it gets scratched up, pour some hot water over it and the scratches magically disappear.

I've heard of the Xpel. How much does that cost? Just wondering as a comparison to what Toyota offers.

    “Special order”?

Was there a secret optional factory-installed plum shooter that I missed?! Lol. I thought the tech and the premium packages were pretty much it? o_O

It’s expensive AF. I went to an installer in Indy and to wrap a whole car in the satin vinyl would cost about $5000-$6000. Just to do the front bumper and grille was like $500-$600.

But I will say that xpel is 1000x better than Toyota film. It’s professionally out on and is significantly kore durable and resistant to fading, peeling etc. plus it comes with a 10year warranty.

I was reading the paint quality nightmares on the blue color here. Is anyone's cement having paint problems?
