    Hi all -

Just wanted to say I am a happy new 2018 owner and love the great advice I have been finding on this forum. You guys rock.

Planning on going for Krown treatment this week, I know that they apply the stuff all over the vehicle - not just on the undercarriage.

I am worried that this is going to mess with the sensors for the TSS pre-collision system and also my blind spot monitor and lane departure. They spray all under the hood and behind the front grill and taillights, which I believe is where the TSS sensors are. The generic Krown video makes the generic statement that "our stuff helps prolong sensor life," but I don't see how a TSS camera that is covered in Krown is going to work properly. TSS is the main reason I bought Taco over 4Runner, so I don't want to ruin it.

I also just put nice aftermarket speakers in, and am not sure about how spraying the stuff inside the doors is going to affect my sound quality coming off the speakers.

Are these legitimate causes for concern? Not sure if I should just ask them to do the undercarriage. I also plan to do a lot of wheeling on this Taco, so I am not sure if my parts under my front hood are going to get all covered with dirt because of the Krown, leading to other problems.

    Thanks so much!

It's really difficult to spray the BSM/RCTA sensors, they are tucked inside the rear bumper. One each side.

The front radar sensor is behind the Toyota emblem and should not be rust proofed on any vehicle.

You'll be fine, just get under real quick and make sure they don't spray the shit all over the exhaust or any moving parts.

I had my ‘18 done a few weeks ago by Krown. I didn’t even think about the TSS sensors.

No issues for me. I’m not really worried about it. It can’t be any worse then the beating the sensors are going to take this winter.

Thanks - any concern with them spraying over my speakers, affecting sound quality? I know they spray inside the door panels, not sure if that means they will spray over the speakers.

I have been spraying my own Fluid Film up inside my doors since October 2016 and have noticed no issues with my speakers. I do it at least twice a year.

    Good to know -

Any concerns with them spraying under the front hood, all over the engine/battery/components?

I am worried this will damage something.

I don't know anything about vehicles, just being a little paranoid.

    Thank you.

I know this thread is old. However, I have a 2017 TRD Sport that lost the driver's BSM module in January on the coldest day of the month. Went in twice to the Dealer's service department, they said that the Krown spray is the cause and isn't not covered by warranty. After the first visit, I went to the local Krown and they show me where they sprayed and didn't. I've taken pictures, videos, and inspection camera video. There is some oil on the convoluted tubing and the connector housing from when the bottom of the box and the receiver assembly was sprayed. There is nothing on the sensor body itself. I cleaned the inside of the bumper and the sensors (left and right). All there was was road grime - no oils. You can even see the part labels on the top and bottom clearly before cleaning. On the second dealer visit, they said the same thing - the oil has caused the failure and it's not under warranty. They didn't take the connector off the module. They explained that the oil can seep into the connector, break down the seals, and allow water to get into the connector. It looks like a long battle ahead. Anyone have any suggestions?
