    Check those out.

The 7.3 is boat anchor reliable. Costs a lot of money to make serious power, but, a reliable engine....

The 6leaker on the hand.,. Well, I'll get some pictures when I torque a set of heads on another one in the coming weekend....

Well I’ll be damned... makes sense people would swap out the 6.0, that thing was a wreck unless you put a couple grand into ‘bullet-proofing’ the engine. Swapping the 7.3 seems sort of odd though, that was a good engine! I didn’t realize that swap had become so popular. I wonder how many of the trucks I saw like that actually had the swap and which were rocking the C because ‘it’s the new cool thing to do, brah’.

X2, the stories I hear from my friends who are teachers are appalling. If I got a bad grade, my parents would have my ass. It wasn’t open for discussion, it was do better next time or else... The whole time I was in grade school my parents took my side against a teacher once, and that was a very special circumstance.

From my experience, since the Mrs is a kindergarten teacher, is this...

Kindergarten is no joke anymore. They have to know a ton of stuff now if they want to go on to 1st grade. If they don't, technically they can be kept back, but because it's only kindergarten, the parents have a say. The teacher can only suggest it, and it falls on the parents to make the final decision. A lot of times they agree, but the few that don't... Well... Let's just say that they end up staying back a few times throughout their elementary school life.

I had a professor for Economics who really was a hard marker, a C there was a B really. He had right in the syllabus that the objective was for the students to challenge themselves, learn the material and EARN a high grade

I couldn’t imagine trying to be a teacher now with all the smart phone and social media distractions in the mix. My mom is a recently retired HS teacher and she said her last few years where technology was really taking off was like pulling teeth to get even honors and AP students to pay attention.

I am sure HS is nuts with it. Changing what I am doing this year to take out a tech. component because most kids can't handle the responsibility of phone in the room. Kind of a bummer, but I have other plans.
How many years did your mom teach for?

Funny with the phones.... we see it with apprentices.... so... no phones on jobsite unless they're company provided....

My oldest daughter(15) isn't allowed to take her phone to school, even though they say okay.

My middle daughter(14) could care less about a phone.

All this tech is great, except, when it isn't. So easy to be distracted, and not productive.

I got a phone when I was a freshman in high school. It stayed off all day and in my locker. I had it because I took the commuter rail from the South Shore to Boston and my parents wanted a way for me to get in touch with them if the train was late or anything.

My first phone was one of those emergency use ones. It had no plan so it was like $1 a minute so it stayed off and in my glove box. I didn't get a phone I actually used until college. The cell phone plan, at that time, was cheaper than the land line plan offered by the school.

    Morning all,

Trying to start my day off on a positive note. But, dam am I pissed. For the 2nd time in 3 years, on my first day back to work in the school, I am told my hours are not what I expected. It's my own fault for not staying focused and completing my teaching degree. But I really enjoy the work I get to do as an Educational Technician. I get to work with the kids who struggle the most and who would otherwise get lost in the system. Th connections I make will be ever lasting for the students, the truly have some hope.

But fuck no, our administration doesn't value this work. I went from 40 hours to 35 and now 32.5. Now to figure out what benefits I'll lose if I switch school districts.

Oh well, let's get day two of listening to the bullshit out of the way.

Yeah, we live in the woods.....

My first phone, I was 17... big Nokia. Cost a buttload of money to use back then.

Now, i currently have in my pockets, my personal S8, and the company iphone(which gets left on the counter unless I'm on call).....

Either way, short of a planetary EMP, these devices aren't going anywhere.....

I hear about stuff like this form my wife every year... about losing her aid, getting it back, then losing it again, about people like you that get "cut", etc. It's fucked up. The kids are the ones that end up suffering more in the end.

Hope it straightens out for ya.
