My mom's an Ed Tech, works at Mallett up in Farmington with the special ed kids. Her experiences with kids and parents and the administration convinced me at an early age not to go into the education field

I worked in manufacturing, made tons of money, but was not happy. Left and went back to working with kids, have no money, but am personally satisfied about the work I do.

I made the opposite switch; worked with kids in the juvenile justice system for 8 years and realized that for 90%, it was too late and they’d end up dead or in jail. Last 4 years I’ve made much, much more money, have an easier analytical justice system desk job and don’t have to go hands on every single day in a scrum.

awesome, I agree that once they have reached the justice system, most are to far gone. That's why I think its so important to work with these youth at risk when they are in Middle school, there is still hope. I also do restorative justice work for the local police dept, I like this because its the last step for some before they end up in the system, which is like a death sentence for most.

That’s similar to what I started with right after college in Manchester, rewarding work but didn’t pay the bills.
When I came back to MA, by time they got to me (lockup), it was too late. It takes a LOT for a judge to lock a kid up. Now, I’m in the incarceration alternative field. Do what we ask, stay out of jail. Easy...

Forked up the cash to get them powdercoated. The center caps were sanded and painted gloss black to semi match... Slight difference but nothing too noticeable.

Hey all, does anyone know of any custom fabricators that do work in aluminum, in the greater New England area? I’m wanting to commission a roof rack/lamp mount now and possibly a flatbed with canopy in the near future.

I have a fabricator I used to work with in billerica mass area. Probably one of the best fabricators for custom automotive stuff (exhausts, roll cages etc) I have ever worked with.

Those Norwelds are nice, but I feel overpriced. Their are fabricators out west that do customs and productions for almost half the cost as those ausie imports.

I’m hoping for someone out here that has experience custom fabing themselves.

Does he work with aluminum often? I know that making aluminum look clean is a different monster

They have a full Fab shop as well. Not sure of their scope though. I still find it funny when people call it overlanding up here. It's basically what we've always just called hopping in your truck and going camping.

East Side Motoring sent them out for me. They do all my wheel mounting / balancing.

Well he makes custom intake manifold, piping, intercoolers etc for GTR's and higher end performance race cars along with custom exhausts for race boats... Abe the fabricator is starting his own thing up now - dude does tig/mig all day and has all the equipment to cut/bend/mill/lathe whatever might come his way and if he can't do it up front he will tell you. He's a straight shooter and a slight perfectionist. He takes his time and doesn't rush his work.

Another :crapstorm: at work. Lovely... just lovely.

One of the factories I work with is fucking killing me, so I get shit everyday. Another one is constantly fucked up, so get shit everyday as well.

And now I get shit for people not doing their job, and me having to spoon feed them, so I get shit for that as well.

    :infantry::infantry::infantry:

EDIT: And it's not just me saying and feeling that way. My co-worker says and feels the same thing. It's rough out here.

Abe sounds like the kind of fabricator I’m looking for. Do you want to pass on his contact info?
