Go to Amazon and buy replacement sensors and have them installed. It ain't exactly cheap, but a lot cheaper than buying from Toyota. Since I've had vehicles with TPMS sensors I've had 3 different situations where I ran over something in the road that resulted in a rapid tire deflation. Once while traveling at 75 mph. Having a warning light come on gave me enough time (literally just a few seconds warning) before the tire was completely flat. Losing a tire at 75 mph isn't something you want to do.

    https://www.amazon.com/Genuine-Toyo...2007+tacoma+tpms+tire+pressure+monitor+system

Doing a hack job on the wires opens up the OP to a lawsuit or possible prison term for negligence if he ever has a blow out at 75 and ends up killing someone else.

I've had mine bypassed for5 years. Tires don't even have sensors anymore.

My light came on and I can’t reset it. I’ve tried everything. Do the TPms sensors wear out eventually?

Yep, batteries go bad at the 8-10 year mark.

You get a blow out doing 75 and it's that bad that there's an accident, I doubt the sensors will do any good.

I've never been convinced the sensors are a safety device. I'm more inclined they are present to grantee the corporate fuel economy.

You can find aftermarket sensors for cheaper, like $25 installed- got mine for the ‘07 I had from Town Fare Tire. They described them as one of the most common replacement sensors out there.

I wish the 2nd Gen was like a newer Silverado or F150 where the dash or radio has a digital screen that allows you to scroll through each tire and see the actual pressure in psi. Significantly more useful than a dash light. Is it 1 psi below the threshold or 20 psi below all the other tires?

Some aftermarket head units have this ability if you install an interface like a Mistro or similar to retain factory features that go away when you remove the factory headunit.

Does the 2nd Gen pressure sensors have this ability to provide psi data? Techstream show this? OBD II reader? Scanguage?

With Scangauge, you can monitor tire pressure and tire temperature, but... it doesn't provide multiple screens, so you have to change each individual item to what you want to see. If they don't get alternate screens figured out soon, I am tempted to get an OBD splitter and run 2 scan gauges. One for tire pressure and one for trans temp and stuff.

Scan gauge doesn't have the capability to monitor tire pressures. Much of everything else is correct.

I was sure you were were confused with throttle position sensor.

I've got 2 SGII's and never knew that.
