    Leveling kit
New member to the forum and Tacoma owner. I have added a 2.5 leveling kit and having issues with tires. I have tried 295's,285's and 275's. All scrub either the frame or rocker arm. I was going to order XD wheels and was told the largest tire I could use without some scrubbing was a 265. Was also told if I used a -12 offset on the wheel it would rub the back fender and front mud flap. I am somewhat disappointed as the 265 is the stock size and wanted a bigger tire. Any suggestions other than lifting the truck more would be appreciated.

you can stick a 31 under a stock suspension fine, so going to a big 32 shouldn't be a problem. If you have to trim its nothing that people can see.

What size tire do you recommend and what would you have to trim?

Seeing the third gen section forced me to get a Ford...
you can fit a 265/75/16 or 265/70/17 equivalent on there w/ stock rims and be fine. you can fit wider tires on there, ie 285s on stock tires, but you will have to run spacers on the front to keep the tires from rubbing the upper control arms due to the backspacing of the stock wheels. the most common rim to run on 285s is 8" wide and running a 4.5" backspacing. once you get in the 33" range, you start getting into rubbing on the plastic inner fenders and the body mount.
