Like many of you I really disliked the way my new 2016 Tacoma Limited 4x4 shifted up and down the road. It was a real turn-off and I was actually thinking of either trading or selling and go back to Ford. Frankly the transmission has to many gears. As a last ditch effort I hit the internet and discovered Toyota had a "fix'. Went to dealer and showed them the report, they checked their list of updates installed it (took about 30 minutes and bingo, drives like I expected. The shifting upward and downward is noticeably smoother and drives like my 4Runner. I'm no longer wanting to rid myself of the "lemon" and instead look to many years of happy motoring in my new Tacoma. If your unhappy with the shifting on your Tacoma talk to your dealer about Toyota Update 8/11/2116 and SB-0077-16 which contains update 89661-04K52. It worked for me.

I was happy for about 2-3K miles too, after that it went back to sheet. Enjoy!
