Need some help guys and gals!

I recently put in a 35w Kensun HID kit into my 18 Taco and am not sure if it's the kit or this is just how HIDs perform in projectors designed for halogens. It seems that my cutoff is slightly skewed, there is a "notch" above the cut off line and I notice that when I drive, it illuminates freeway signs and signs on the road whereas it seems as if the vehicles behind me do not.

I've been driving with them for a few days now and have not gotten flashed at all, which makes me think that they are not blinding drivers; although I did have to raise the beam because they seemed to be angled too far down. Yet, it still feels like I'm not seeing as far as I would like.

Take a look at this photo, this is about 2 feet from my garage door.

I'm pretty sure that "notch" is there for that reason. Looks pretty normal to me. What bulb temperature did you go with?

My Morimoto's do the same thing, it is intended to a degree. If you're illuminating signs and oncoming traffic isn't flashing their lights at you, you're good. Embrace the sombreros.

I eventually went with RX350 projectors and it definitely makes better use of the light. Even spread instead of all the light being centered.

Try going to the Daniel Stern website where the "Z" is explained. It is technology that goes back to the sixties when the halogen bulbs were still used in the glass headlight buckets in Europe. The Cibie Z beam is a classic! On that website is also the authoritative direction on how to align your lights. There you'll also see how the Z is intended to look on your alignment wall.

They're $200 for a pair. You have to bake the headlights then peel them apart. And bake them back together. In my opinion, getting the headlights off the truck is more of a pain in the ass.

Were the RX350s plug and play as far as mounting them to the bracket?

    5000K - 6500K most closely simulates daylight.

I went with lightwerkz and theretrofitsource for parts. It takes some a little trimming but they will screw right into the same spot. You will need the D2S bulb. I bought bulbs and a harness that plugged into my ballast for about $60. There’s a thread or 2 on how to do it somewhere.

I agree, 6500k HIDs will look "blue". The point I'm trying to make is 4300K is not daylight
