Thankful many places are going to plasma Arc gouging

I see Carbon Air Arc still being used to clean up castings

No matter it sucks right there with Sand Blasting

Not going to lie. If I need to hack a little something I just crank both dials with a piece of 5/32 6010

30amp is nice if you use it outside of your own shop (IMO). Can run it off a lot more options usually. Just make sure your portable compressor can handle the air requirements. I'm not sure what it is for the powermax30. My little Lotos is something like 4scfm @65psi.

And if you can find one around you, sign up for the Hypertherm class. or they might have online things. They do rather nice training, teaching about the consumables, proper torch usage, setup, ect.

    No shit!
It sucks wearing a resperator and having a fan blow your cover gas off the weld.

It is worth noting that a person can alter their welding style to compensate for those irratations.

Well I’ve started the back bumper for my truck. Now I’ve run in to the issue of how I’m going to prevent corrosion inside the main bumper tube since I can’t cap the entire tube off due to how the receiver is situated. I had to cut access holes in the tube in order to reach the hitch pin. Any of y’all know a good way to coat the inside of steel tube effectively?

Here’s the bumper as it sits right now.

How easy does that fluid film wash off? Since its for a bumper, its not going to stay particularly clean or dry on the inside.

I've had some very good cuts with my HF 4x6 bandsaw. Picked it up for $190. Has been one of the best Harbor Freight tools I've ever bought. Something to consider since its about the same price point.

Lol at all this chop saw hate. I'm happy with mine and it fit my budget. I'm 25, when I make the big bucks I'll put together a decent shop. Till then, the chop saw will work just fine.

HF bandsaw for the win, picked this one up used for 50 bucks, bought a couple new blades off of Amazon for 20 bucks or so, gave it a cleaning and oiling, works awesome

Have you used a band saw? It seems odd to me that you won't consider one. Chops saws work great for exhaust pipe or re-bar. That's about it.

Portable band saws produce no sparks, no dust, require no bench top space and are very quiet. The Harbor Freight portable band saw is on sale for $140.
