Dropped mine off at the dealer this morning with TSB’s in hand to get the update done. Fingers crossed all goes okay. I explained to them that I have had the old update done and still not pleased with it. We shall see...

Well, I struck out. Told me I had the latest. I verified it’s the old update from REV16 which ends in 0300. Have a call into the service manager.

You didn't have your TSB printout with you to show them that 0400 replaces 0300? Or are you talking about 0077-16, is that what you meant by REV16?

So I went to the dealer today to get an oil change and to have the TSB done for my '17 Sport 4x4 AT and they told me that their computers do not have the update yet .... which to me is totally bogus. Can this really be a thing? Or are they just being lazy?

Not only is that a lazy answer, but its false. They totally lied to you. Many have updated, and some of us have even downloaded and updated the truck ourselves. I don't understand all the hassle from these dealers for an update that literally takes like 7 minutes to do.

I had the guy show me that I am at 4100 and 6100... and to the side it said no updates available.

My truck now stumbles very similarly to how I've had older cars stumble when they've got bad coil packs. 40-45mph, I believe it's probably in 5th gear and I hit a slight incline, rpms decrease to 1k-1.2k and the whole truck starts shaking. I demonstrated it for him and he said there's nothing he has that can be done about that. Which I believe 100%. There's no "fix" for it. That doesn't mean it should be happening... and it doesn't mean that the right answer is - just put it to the floor to force it to downshift.

I don't know when this started. Before or after they updated it...

I would conveniently point out to the SA that the amount of time that they have wasted talking to me, they could have done the update and billed Toyota...

Took mine in yesterday because of a problem with my truck pulsing between 25-30mph, and also hoping that I could get the 0062-18 tsb update. They ended up giving me tsb 0058-18, which from what I understand is the same as 0062-18. And to be 100% honest, I’d rather have it back the way it was before the update. I do notice that the acceleration is a bit better and a bit more responsive, but now I’m experiencing the pulsating sensation at higher speeds anywhere from 45-65mph. And as far as the dash readout tells me I’ve lost a good 2-3 miles per gallon, which I could stomach if the transmission were working correctly. Not a happy camper at the moment...

You must be one of the unfortunate few who don’t like the results. Probably 95%, including me, have had really good results from the update. Mine shifts like I think it should have from the factory and I’m getting better gas mileage.

Give it a couple days(realistically 1 tank worth of driving) before making a judgement. As with anytime you get a new tune flashed the ECU needs to do some adjusting first. MPG usually comes back to what it was or better with this tune and driveability improves a bit

Appreciate the feedback guys, I’ll give it a good week or two and hopefully things will improve after it adjusts itself. Fingers crossed that I won’t have to make another trip to the dealership.

I have my appointment set for Friday morning. I've had mixed results dealing with the service advisors at this dealership, so I'm hoping they don't give me any crap. :fingerscrossed:

Yes I had them. They swear up and down their system showed no updates. I did have the 0077-16 which was the 0300 calibration done a year ago. He wrote down my current calibration which is still the 0300. I may take it to Mountain States where others have had the update applied.
