@Bentrodder did I miss something about not being able to keep the OEM D ring when installing the bed supports?

 

You can not keep the OEM D ring unless you use a longer bolt. But why would you need to? You have a hole for a hook right there.

 

Shit, the shoulder on the bolt won't even make it inside the bracket hole WTF.

 

Did you remove all the spacers on the back side of the bolt?

 

I will take those d rings?

 

Yeah, stripped all that off. Just the naked bolt with that big ass shoulder won't quite clear.

 

had a guy come into our shop about 2 weeks ago wanting to order some new wheels and tires and was looking at a lift kit. we were looking at his truck (completely stock 1st gen tacoma) and noticed almost everything under his truck was completely rusted through or just straight up broken. he said its his daily driver, has all the original parts and he has around 280k miles on it. we tried to tell him that he SERIOUSLY should not be driving his truck and tried to get him to let us replace some stuff on his truck but he kept refusing. flash forward to today, we get a call from a tow company thats bringing in a tacoma that had a "front end failure" on the freeway. turns out it was the same guy. the tow truck driver said "front end failure" instead of ball joint failure because almost everything on his front end had snapped around 65mph. ball joint buckled turning his front end into what looked like a hovercraft lol. needless to say, he feels pretty damn retarded now haha
