I think I bricked my ECU doing the B04 update..[OVTune Fixed it!!!]

Ya. Waiting for 1.05 to drop. I'd also like B04 before that though.

I might try again without the VM and on a charger but damn that would suck to strike 2.

 

I just hate the time suck and adversarial stance of dealers.

 

I do too, but they have to fight with corp for warranty repair reimbursement so you gotta make a good case, so they can too.

I would try to get the dealer to do the update.

My cable came from tactrix. My host is Win10 x64. I thought that might be an issue to avoid. One of the reasons why I built a Win7 x86 VM.

 

VM and USB never seem to work as well as they should. Believe its dependent on drivers. Don't know if that was it, but could easily see it being the issue.

 

The ancient laptop of ours is Win10 x64. No problems. I've used it for FTDI chip connections to my motorcycle also.

 

I ran mine on a 2010 MacBook Air bootcamped with Win7.

 

Ok. This is killing me. I'm considering installing a legit copy of TS on my Win10 x64 host (same PC just not within a VM). I have a battery tender I could use. I have a sickness.

 

Don't let it kill you.

Try the TS customizations first while checking for any communication hiccups.

If your battery is solid (go for a 5min drive to let the alternator do its thing), a tender will keep it happy while doing the update. You can check the voltages with a multimeter.

Seriously I would try every permutation of setup to figure out why it failed the first time if I could unbrick it myself over and over.
