I was offered a job by my neighbor who was the construction foreman for the FedEx hub they were building down the street. It would’ve been a part time maintenance job with full benefits and tuition reimbursement. Told me the guy I’d replace made $55k a year.

Couldn’t take the job because I wasn’t 18 at the time yet. Guy moved to Missouri to another FedEx plant construction before I could have the chance.

When I went to school I was able to get a job on campus that was part time year around. I stuck with that job until I graduated. I had a mountain bike problem back then.

I’ve worked in seasonal high end catering for the past two or three years. It’s only a few times a year, but it pays well. That’s all the food service I ever want to do. Haha.

I’m pursuing a degree in Computer Engineering right now so I’m definitely in that realm. Haha.

55k a year sounded like a lot for 17 year old me.

Or you could literally get any job in the oilfield and make more than that. Specially down there.

I once worked in the dish pit as a teenager for the summer. I think it's the hardest job to do in a restaurant and you get no respect. One time the day time dishwasher decided to try and dump out a pot full of rice in the drain and a real shit show was waiting when I came in. The sink wouldn't drain fast enough. It was a total mess and made for a miserable night.

I remember when that place imploded. I got the call one day that they were closing down and I needed to come in. They asked if I stay and help clean, but I just took my last check and bounced.

As an adult, no it won’t. But as a teenager that didn’t pay rent or bills, it’s a goldmine.

What language? I took AP CSA in high school which was taught in Java. I took an actual college level intro class at my local community college about two years ago which was taught in Python.

Didn’t do very good in either. Coding comes naturally to most people, but I just didn’t like it. This is a huge reason why I pursued Computer Engineering instead of Computer Science, even though software engineering is where the money is at.

I don’t want to sit at a desk and waste my life away. I’m a hands on person.

Hey. It’s a nice place to live.

Laws and politics aside, it’s a beautiful place.
