At least Pennywise didn't find him. Good for the kid doing what he is supposed to. The last thing those parents should be doing is confusing the kid. Get him into a routine so he knows what/where to go. Besides, I thought if the kid was to deviate from anything they are supposed to do, the parents had to send in a note or call the office or something.

I worked at a day camp during the summer for years and the 13 to 15 year olds would wander off where they werent supposed to be to get into trouble. The parents would yell at us because their kids were little shits who refused to follow the rules. Just people who refuse to take responsibility for their childrens actions and their bad parenting.

Irresponsible parents lead to free range kids which leads a false sense of entitlement and more irresponsiblity

I love the GWNF. But I hate all the trashy people that go.
Here is what I have come to expect if camping in a more popular area (and why I don't camp near flagpole anymore)
    • Night time driving blasting loud music and loud exhaust
    • Trash everywhere
    • Shooting guns throughout the night

the engine in the 3rd gen isn't bad at all. It is the tuning, and the trans that is bad. The motor is forged, and is capable of 14lbs iirc.

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/2gr-fks-on-91-octane-311hp-6400rpm-and-280lb-ft-4800rpm.387336/

even though its Wikipedia, this motor is used by quite a few of Toyota and Lexus vehicles, which is smart from a manufacturing perspective.

it is however interesting how the Tacoma is the LOWEST hp out of the lot.

    2GR-FKS[edit]
The 2GR-FKS is a 3.5-liter, 24-valve DOHC V6 engine that combines the D-4S system from the 2GR-FSE with the simulated on-demand Atkinson cycle used in the 2UR-GSE and 8AR-FTS engines. The intake camshafts are equipped with VVT-iW and the exhaust camshafts are equipped with VVT-i. In the Tacoma the engine specifications are 207 kW (278 hp) at 6000 rpm and 359 N⋅m (265 lb⋅ft) at 4600 rpm.[9] In the Lexus RX 350 the engine specifications are 220 kW (295 hp) at 6300 rpm and 362 N⋅m (267 lb⋅ft) at 4700 rpm respectively. In the Lexus IS350 and GS350 the engine specifications are 232 kW (311 hp) at 6600 rpm and 380 N⋅m (280 lb⋅ft) at 4800 rpm respectively.

    Applications (calendar years):

    Edited to add.

Thanks for the links. I just liked my 2nd Gen motor more, but you are right, it is the tuning and trans that are the real issue here. What did you mean by 14lbs?

The rule of thumb I hear is 1 degree for each inch of lift. People seem to have good luck with 3 degree shims.

Coincidentally, I have a brand new set I have never installed from wheelers that I'll sell you.

Well if you like, I can get one of those large "fits it ships" boxes and put those as well as the ditch lights/bracket in there. I paid $36 for the shims to my door, and a large flat rate box is about $15. So $50 and I'll ship you all that stuff.
