It's hilarious to me how delusional A&M fans are, almost as crazy as Vols fans :anonymous:

I have to say, Vols fans (my bro-in law/sister/and their kids are) sure are faithful. year in and year out they cheer that dumpster fire on and never let it burn out.

I know...its exhausting. We love our football.

A few of us grads (All UT) in the office today were talking about how excited we are for the season to start. Even though this season is a fucking ruthless schedule

I don't think Alabama has been on a losing streak with EVERY SEC TEAM before.

I think you're right but still, the few of us loyal non bandwagon Bama fans know what misery feels like! The early 2000s, the heart of my high school days and early college days, were the worst years ever to be a Bama fan and it bothered me to the core that we sucked so bad. That's what makes these days so much sweeter for us because we have seen and lived rock bottom. Being at the top is a lot more fun!

And I'm the Opposite.. Grew up in the 80's and 90's watching the prime of Neb football. I only knew winning. Now I've been doing my time staying warm by the fire :bananadead:

Oh yea, I can definitely relate to the pain, just luckily didn't suffer as long as you are. I remember the 90's Nebraska just dominating folks with the Wishbone offense. The triple option style offense is a thing of beauty when its run by a properly disciplined/well executing team and no one did it better than Nebraska at that time!

Hey I got y’all beat. Grew up watching Herschel Walker carry us to a NC. As a kid I didn’t appreciate the magnatude of it. Of course college wasn’t as big then as it is now. And we all know this history of UGA since then. Been waiting all my life for this Championship only to have it snatched away in what seemed like a split second. Now I’ve got to listen to a Bama fan cry about the down years. Boo freaking who.

    End rant

It was 1980 UGA beat Notre Dame in the Sugar Bowl for the Natty. It was Herschel’s freshman year. Herschel was pretty much our entire offense. He separated his should on his first run of the game and stayed in the game to basically win it. I think we only completed one pass the entire game. I don’t remember it that well but that was my first taste of college football so my love for defense an power running all started from that year.

Penn State must have beat them in '82 then, as I think Hershel went to the USFL after his junior year. We had Curt Warner as a senior RB........"Warner is a RUNNER, not a Walker"!!!! Georgia fans were great to deal with - only saw 1 fight in 5 days - 2 Penn State guys fighting themselves - We all partied together on Bourbon Street before and after the game.
