omg you own a CVT. o_O

but i understand. just bought a new vehicle last week and the landscape has changed, wow. for the first time we didn't even look for MT options since it was a 3 row SUV. but i will avoid CVT's forever as they are now. sorry i seem to be in thread jack mode lately.

She is indifferent about transmissions but loves the Subaru. I do like driving much more than her, so I would typically be behind the wheel for trips. The CVT is so gawd awful that I generally refuse to drive it. I did try to find a 2008 Fozzy XT MT or a 2.5GT MT wagon when she was looking. There were NONE available in 1,000mi for a few weeks. We had to jump on her XT since there was a massive factory backlog at the time and four other peeps wanted it.

Thread jacks are a way of life.

i sold a '06 Impreza wagon 5MT when i got my Tacoma. that thing was so awesome and I took care of it. it had the STi exhaust and you could hear it rumble from about 1/2 mile away. love the sound of those things.

That was on my list with the Taco and Jeeps. They were all holding crazy good used values.

I tried to explain that the Impreza wagons were identical to the Fozzys except for slightly less space in the hatch, but she would not go there. Of course, she finally understood after we bought it. The 2014+ has so much useless head room, unneeded extra ride height, and bloat. Oh well. . .

My 15yr old is absolutely in love with STis and is realistically wanting a base Impreza for many good reasons. Somehow, our youngest is all of a sudden head over heels about any classic car, esp 50s Stangs.

Good exhaust that sounds decent and retains stock power?

Borla catback. I'm also 90% certain it's the same as the TRD... Only the TRD is more expensive.

Without a doubt. And here’s the interesting part. There’s a fair chance that engine/transmission is straight stock. Heck, the whole car could be close to stock. Porsche GT cars were meant to be streetable track cars. My GTS is meant to be a trackable street car. Of course, I’m missing 0.6 liters of engine and the forced induction. And the marvelous PDK. And the ceramic brakes. And the dropped suspension. Ok, should stop now.
