Bungie's Destiny

The Solstice armor is a nice addition to the game and has certainly added some replayability. I screwed up and masterworked my entire set of Hunter armor when I should have just been saving the cores. I didn't masterwork the WL armor. I haven't even attempted any of it on the Titan. Two times was enough for me. I did get my T-shirt the other day though.

Masterwork Cores will become gold once the expansion drops along with planetary materials. I'm sitting on well over 1000 Vanguard tokens, 1000 Crucible tokens, and over 4500 Gunsmith materials so hopefully I'll get a shot at some of the new weapons once the expansion drops. I'm not sure if it will work or not but I've also got a bunch of Exotic engrams sitting on my characters waiting to turn in. I know Bungie has said that they will not decrypt into the new stuff but they also said that before each expansion and each time they have. We'll see... I've lost nothing if they don't since I have every exotic in the game. I've also got a page full of bounties to turn in. If they are still there after the expansion drops then the XP along with the drops will hopefully give me a head start. One other thing that I would suggest is stocking up on Fireteam Medallions for the XP boost and the night before The Forsaken drops I would level your characters almost all the way up before rolling over so you can gain that extra level right off the bat.

 

That's what I love about you brother, damn if you arnt prepared for the next dooms day DLC drop for big D. Man the amount of materials you have stashed is always impressive!

 

Lol... I didn't exactly plan on having all of those materials stockpiled. It just kind of happened. Once I found out that Vanguard, Crucible, and Gunsmith materials would be the only things that would be moving forward I just started keeping them. No need in turning them in on stuff that I already have deleted hundreds of times. Once I get close to 100,000 glimmer I buy mods and just store them in the vault. They won't be useful in the next expansion but they will be able to be converted into the new mod system. I don't need any mods but it will be nice to use the old ones to get the new ones. Not sure what the exchange rate will be but I've got plenty. It seems planetary materials will be some of the most valuable currency (kind of like D1) and that has been the biggest grind honestly. I just don't like doing it. But if there is any armor that needs materials from Titan I'm covered lol.

 

Hahaha man that's about as mathematic as it gets with stashing. Do you ever play any other games? Would be cool to game with ya sometime, although you know I made a special pact to retire myself from the D.

 

About the only other game I play is Gran Turismo. I log in each day and get my mileage in the hopes that I'll get one of the $20,000,000 cars to drop. No luck so far. Me and a few friends race each other pretty often and it's kind of nice having clean races. We'll each use the exact same car and setup so it is pure driving skill that wins. Other than that... no not really. I don't play single player games. We have so many that play Destiny that there is almost always someone that needs help with something. Each weekend we run people through that still need the Whisper. That, to me, is the funnest part of the game. Helping others get the stuff they want to get.

Ah bummer man I wont be able to catch you on the flip, but I can respect that. Pretty cool about GT as I havnt delved into that game in forever. I remember one game that was hard as hell and at some point I gave up...was Baja for the 360. Even on the medium setting it was getting challenging to win races...you had to have the environments really figured out with throttle control. I probably would be encouraged to play D if any of my friends even fired that up anymore.

 

If you ever do decide to play again you are always welcome to join our clan. We have plenty that are active. I'll send you an invite if you ever decide you would want to join. Honesty... that is the only reason that I have played for the last six months or so. Just because of the people that we play with. Sometimes there just isn't anything to do in the game but having someone that is always on keeps it interesting. We'll make up special challenges just to keep it fresh. And since PvP is the only dynamic game mode in the game, that's about all we do right now.

 

Ah that is tempting me man...are you on the box or station? I always thought it was the completionist in you that kept you motivated...pretty cool that its the boys at the end of the day that keep you going strong.

 

PS4. I am a completionist no doubt. Apparently not the completionist that I thought I was since I won't be running my Titan through to get the Solstice armor. But other than that, there isn't anything in the game that I don't have. Luckily the people that I play with are completionist also so we are always helping each other get the stuff we need. We post up a session each weekend for those that still want the Whisper so we'll start a queue and run people through it for as long as it takes to get everyone that wants it to be able to get it. But just hanging out in the game and bullshiting is fun enough. Private matches are always fun since no one gets bent. We learn from each other that way also. I learned to snipe better than I ever thought I would because I was forced to learn how to snipe against one of my friends who is a fucking beast with a sniper. But he made me better in the process.

 

Yea man I remember in my Halo 3 days I had a friend that was nasty with the sniper to where you tried and died until you got your shit together. It is amazing how that can bring up your skill relatively fast. Ah, no wonder I didn't try to get up with ya earlier as you are PS. Although I have contemplated on the next console to get a PS as many of my OG box buddies are starting to dip off Microsoft since Halo isn't really delivering these days and besides that PS has all the exclusives. Yea man when I played the original D I had all three titans caused I love the melee "beat up shit" mentality. When I played D2 I had to make three class types which later found the hunter is the most fun cause of how snappy you can be and when you get that dialed...it can be really fun. So I see what you mean as the Titan just seems like a grandpa at times. The sad thing about D is man I never picked it back up after the first DLC dropped and considering how boring the story missions are to unlock the content...I don't know if I would want to go through that much mediocre story telling just to get open to earn the cool stuff these days.

 

Brother I completely understand about not wanting to pick it back up. As shitty as the game has been over this last year I wouldn't recommend the game to anyone that isn't already invested in someway or another. I hope The Forsaken will be TTK of D2. If so then the game is in for a hell of a ride. If that's the case, it sucks we had to wait an entire year for it. In D1 it could be forgiven since it was a new IP. But there was no excuse for D2 to suck this bad.

I've had both the Xbox One and the PS4 (5 PS4's to be exact ). Both are good systems and I've got nothing bad to say about either one of them. It basically comes down to what your friends play on. As far as exclusive titles go, I "personally" think PS has the upper hand (only slightly) if for nothing else The Last of Us II. That is the only single player game that I am looking forward to. God of War was a pretty amazing game also.

 

I hope for you and your buddies that it does deliver like folks are hoping cause man D2 has had quite a rough run without the hype of bungie as a dev anymore. Are they still getting flack from the current dlc or are they slowly getting themselves out of a hole? If the game does deliver and they make some sort of bundle to buy in to...I might depending on the price, but at best I would probably break even if they did another bundle like they did for TTK. Damn why so many PS4s? If you still got any of them, would you sell one? I have really contemplated getting a PS4 just to be able to play with both groups of my buddies as they all play on PS4 while my box buddies are just random AF now when they are on. I thought PS would have had more exlcusives, but then again it has to be the right title to begin with. One thing I am damn excited for is the revamp of resident evil 2. I don't know if you were ever into those games, but in the PS1 days that shit was gold to me...and I still enjoy playing it from time to time. The gamestop version of the first one was perfection as well with the great story updates. Just talking about that gets me excited...but damn if that shit wont be scary to play Im sure especially now that doors arnt exactly safe anymore since creatures can open them too.

 

Warmind wasn't a bad expansion. And the updates they have done to the weapons have been pretty good. I've heard people complain about the competitive game mode being broken but I haven't had any issue with being competitive. Sure I'll have a bad game here and there (as referenced by last nights picture from earlier) but I generally have many more good games than bad. One thing I've found out by playing so much PvP over the last 5 years or so... as good as you "think" you are, there is always someone out there that is better lol. But the amount of contempt against Bungie has somewhat subsided.

I've got 4 PS4 Pros and one launch edition. I used to keep one of the Pros at the Fire Station before I retired last year so I wouldn't have to drag it back and forth. It's just sitting in my backpack right now. My daughter has one of them and I play on a white Destiny version. One is sitting in our bedroom for when my daughter wants to play MineCraft or whatever. She's got a pretty good setup in her room with my old 27" ultra wide monitor and she'll play D2 with us though she kind of sucks lol.

I'm giving my launch edition to a friend of ours son that wants to play. He's 10 and he's been saving his money for a PS4 so I told him to keep his money for games and I'll give him one of mine. I'm not using it and I'd rather he have it and save his money. He's been saving for a while now so he deserves it.

The only Resident Evil game I ever played was the original PS1 version and it scared the living shit out of me when those dogs jumped through that fucking window lol. As far as exclusive games goes, I'm sure there are more but The Last of Us (1 and the upcoming 2) and God of War were the only ones I was interested in. I would still love to play Halo but I don't know anything about it now that 343 has taken over.

 

So far I'm enjoying the changes. Better Devils is stupid strong now (as if it wasn't before). We played a lot of PvP last night and I only went negative twice and the rest of the time was my normal 2. / 3. kd. I love being able to run a shotgun in my primary (suckit shouldercharge titians lol). I'm still running Graviton Lance and it still three taps. The Tarantula is a god now that the charge time is nonexistent and melts as fast as a sniper. I played around with all different types of weapons but shotguns rule right now. That usually isn't a problem for me since I'm a mid game player and only charge when we need to cap point.

Farming materials now is simple. You get materials from everything on the planet. Patrols, Public Events, etc... And you get a lot of them so it's a lot easier than it was. By the way... The flashpoint is on Mars this week and you can get the new Forsaken Armor or Weapon from Anna once you finish the flashpoint. I got the chest piece on my hunter (with random rolls I might add) and the Sub Machine gun on my WL.

Better Devils is a pure three tap. I started off with a shotgun in primary to counteract titans running shoulder charge but it turned out to not really be a thing. I switched to Better Devils, Graviton Lance (yeah... I'm one of those guys), and the Tarantula since they buffed the charge rate to about 1/3rd of a sec. I love watching people explode into a ball of flame lol. Turns out if a titan is rushing I can three tap them down before they get to me. It was shotgun city last night and I loved watching people running at me with a shotgun and burning them down with the Better Devils. I cannot wait until Malfeasance drops. That thing looks like a beast.

 

Oh... if you happen to have an Inaugural Address pulse from the raid... That motherfucker is awesome. Three tap with kill clip and then two tap. I honestly think it's the best pulse in the game right now. Surprisingly Battle Scar is pretty damn awesome also. I love that there are so many guns you can use now instead of Graviton Lance and Vigilance Wing.

 

I got killed a few times from shotguns during the first few games. I had to learn the new PvP meta which is shotgun rusher right now. That's fine... I can adapt. I started off with a shotgun for a few games but quickly just switched to the Better Devils and three tapped them before they could get to me. Never ever go around a corner if you know someone is there. They are just baiting you. I do the same right before I pop Arc Staff.

 

Good luck getting that shotgun. I've run EP over 100 times and have gotten 4 shotguns, 4 snipers, and 1 smg.

 

Rumor is, exotics are now dropping with random rolls. I've got a bunch of engrams so I might try one out to see.
