GFC takes sundays off?!?! Bullshit! Haha. Those poor guys, shop’s closed but Graeme is probably on an interstate somewhere delivering, and Wiley is probably drawing up something on CAD... bummer you missed them though.

Just got back from my first camping / climbing trip out at Tahoe/bishop with the GFC. Had a few Ppl stopped by and checkout the GFC, snapped pix and they were pretty stoked to see it in person.
The camper also held up pretty well with 15-20mph wind while deployed, at one point I thought the sides would get unbuttoned but it held. Pretty happy about that.

Had a short wish list for mods to the camper/ setup. But overall still super happy with the setup.

The wait was well worth it!

You make it sound pretty hard, but its really just one of the small cubes under my feet. My girl and dogs do not get bothered at all as im exiting the bed/tent. Albeit, my dogs are two small 14 lb terriers.

GFC posted an IG story last night saying they are close to meeting their goal of ten campers done per week. I'll be so happy if i get mine in OCT/NOV vs DEC/Jan. I'll be happy with any date before my projected build date.

Are the side doors doubled, one as a mesh and one as solid that can zip independently?

Still finalizing the side door design but it will have an inner mesh as well, just like the rear door. Side windows will remain the same.

In other news, we just might hit our ten/week goal for the first time! No changes to current timeline estimates until we prove we can maintain that pace, but it’s looking good.

Soon yes. We just got word that a small amount of the material we are waiting on for the xl units has shipped. So that will let us build a few. They haven’t told us when the remainder of the material is coming though, but we expect/hope to get it in September.

Do you think you will be completing another 10 next week or are you still out of/behind on tent frame material?

At this point were only short of xl roof and floor panels so production of everything else will hopefully be at or close to 10/week.

Have any of you who have their GFC's already been through a rain storm in it? Im wondering if the panels are open, would a lot of rain still get in the bed?

Also, if you are up in the tent and sleeping, do you leave the panels open or closed if its for sure going to be dry?

Here is to hoping some more cool accessories come out by time I make my way to the shop. Itll be late fall so the heater would be awesome to see. It is awesome that theyre ramping up, itll be cool to see how the journey continues to develop.

Yea I agree. My build is scheduled for April, but I’m hoping to see them working on accessories well before then. A heater and a roof vent fan would be really nice.

What's the general consensus on windows for those of you who own a GFC? Do you wish you would've ordered windows with your unit if you don't have them, or vice versa?

I think windows seem like a better option overall, but giving another/easier access point for thieves is my biggest concern.

I have the front window only in mine. Front only for two reasons:
    • Add a little more light into the camper when everything is closed up
    • To see whats going on in the back while driving. I have a fridge in the rear and with a small mirror attached to the rear panel I can actually check on the fridge temp through the reflection in my rear view mirror. No remote monitor needed
Beyond those two minor reasons, I think going without both windows is absolutely fine. I got used to losing the rear view mirror quickly. Plus, you'll have less of a greenhouse effect if you live in a hotter climate.

Only a front window for me . I'm going to add a full time rear view camera. Out on the highway, I like to have a view of what's happening behind me be it a tailgater or our friends in law enforecement. I already have a factory installed rear backup camera that only operates when in reverse for parking and backing a trailer.

I changed my order (currently being built) from both windows to front only. I'll have two big dogs in the back so it'll be nice to keep an eye on them and the gear. I opted out on the rear because I couldn't think of any real benefit. Cuts down on privacy and would lead to me having to make a curtain. If I want more light I can open a panel.

    Totally agree.

Don't mind if I have to cover the rear window occasionally. Most of the time the visibility will be appreciated.
