How is it driving like shit again when you had initially said that the update "didn't do shit" to begin with? I'm thinking your dealer lied to you because it made a positive improvement not only for me but many others. Throttle deadzone and lag(most of it) gone, better shifting etc, very noticeable.

I have driven nearly 1000 miles since I got it and it's working exactly the same. No degrading at all, but again I also never saw a degrade with the original tune that came with my Truck.

I assume this is not an issue with the 2017 models

Depends on when it was manufactured. My ‘17 was made in December of 2016 and the dealer updated it before I took delivery.

I need to get mine done along with the T-SB-0171-16.Rev1. Very irritating. Now if I can get the "Buzz" fixed at 2000rpm I will be ecstatic.

I had it completed two days ago, it has made a huge difference in the way it shifts while accelerating and while slowing. I would highly suggest it, the process took the dealer about an hour to complete. I printed off bulletin and brought it to them and they were happy to complete it.

Had it done last night, and have only put on about 30 miles. I have a light foot, but I can tell it holds gears now a bit longer than trying to up shift and get back down to the 1000rpm level. It's also much quicker to downshift to provide the extra power needed. All in all, it feels like it keeps the RPM's a bit higher before up-shifting and this has reduced/removed the lugging at lower speeds in what once felt like I was in higher gear than I should have been.

3 different dealers refused to help me with this. I got techstream, the cuw file and did it myself. Took 8 minutes to install. Truck is much nicer now.

Do you mind sharing the details of the techstream? Is there a particular kind/model? I might be interested in getting one. I also wonder if it can be used for multiple car model.

12.20.024 is the cracked version I used. Easy to find/download. CUW file was on the OVtune thread. I can pm it to you if you need it. I had the cable from the ovtune on hand already. Should have no problem using it on multiple vehicles and should be able to do other things with it however I haven't tried myself yet.

Any tips on explaining the dealership what to do besides the tsb number? (I've explained it feels sluggish and really have to slam on the gas to pass someone up going 10-25mph) I called 2 dealerships and they tell me there's no recall for it. They both say they won't perform it pretty much bc they won't get paid from Toyota. What a bunch of bs.

"erratic shifting" and "slamming into gears" has worked for others. 3 dealers told me to piss off though. Hence I did it myself.

Tell them that at high altitude (you really like to travel to the mountains) it stumbles very badly when accelerating. Tell them you stumble off the line at full acceleartion and that you also stumble when at home between 40-60.
