Wheatertech mats for tacos???

Hello, anyone know if there is any waterproof mats for 2003 Tacoma extra cab with a manual cab??

That’s wierd just talked to weather tech and they said they don’t make them for manual transmission

 

They fit mine

 

I have a set in my 2004 manual trans extra cab. I would not buy again as they don't fit well after a few months. It's like my are starting to curl and shrink. Just get the Husky's and call it a day.

Weathertech IMO relies on ads to sell and not the quality of their product

 

Seems like husky usually runs 15% off promos pretty regularly if you sign up for their email list

 

That's funny, I have a set for my 1996 Taco Xcab with a manual. Its a 2pc from a 2002 to 2004 set, they seem to work pretty well.

 

WeatherTechs fit the entire generation no matter what transmission or year of first gen. I don’t know why WT doesn’t advertise it working, but it have 2004 S-Runner mats in my 1998 Extended Cab.

 

I have a 2003 xtracab 4x4 MT. And Weathertechs

 

I bought both weathertechs and Huskys for a first hand comparison. They both have their pros and cons, depending on what tickles your prickle, each company has good quality floor mats in my opinion.

Weathertechs-
Pros:
•Smooth bottom and doesn’t slide on carpet.
•Has a better fit.
•Covers more surface area (higher sides).
•Plastic material is smooth enough with a textured grip but doesn’t feel sticky.
Con:
•Doesn’t cover left side foot rest.

Husky-
Pros:
•Covers entire left side foot rest.
Cons:
•Harsh spikes on the bottom to grip the carpet (potential to tear up the OEM carpet).
•Doesn’t cover as much surface area.
•Rubber like material is to grippy.
•Bigger gaps and doesn’t fit well in some areas but better in some areas than the weathertechs.

I’ve only had both sets for about two weeks and used one for each week to get a equal comparison. If any of you have different opinions, better or worse experience with either I am curious to know what your thoughts are.

Go with the Husky. After three years my Weather Tech are starting to curl on the edges and look like shit.

from what i have learned working at a toyota dealership in parts, and selling weathertechs, they dont seem to list them for many manual transmissions. reasoning from my understanding, is so that they cannot be held accountable if the mat were to shift and the clutch pedal gets held down or mat wont allow full movement. all that being said, i put them in my double cab 5 speed swap tacoma and love them and havent had any issues

 

Also the smooth bottoms on weather techs is dumb. They will slide around, there are tons of people on the interwebs complaining about this.

I've been using the same Husky mats since I got the truck (with them when I got it), so it's been at minimum 10 years and no carpet tearing. Not even close. And they grip to the floor. I remove and clean them 1-2 times a year when I clean the interior. I think 99% of factory mats have spikes as well... because they would slide around otherwise!

If the spikes tickle your pickle then so be it, my smooth bottoms mats certainly don’t slide and I am very pleased with these mats. The only down side is the left foot rest. That alone was almost a deal breaker, until I used the huskys for about a week and quickly disliked them.

To each their own I suppose

 

Well they came with the truck when I bought it, so it's not like I'm trying to justify my purchase.

 

So it sounds like if I cut it around the clutch pedal I will be good.
