Anyone around here install their own tires? :spy:

Contemplating mounting myself and using balance beads.

Balance beads in my experience haven't really worked well on anything smaller than a 37 and even then they are hit and miss. Installing your own tires can be a pita even with manual tools unless you have a lot of sidewall that can flex. Also it may be hard to get the beads to initially seat without a blast of air it's hit and miss with this though.

Today I got a set of new wheels and had factory tires taken off the old wheels, installed on the new wheels, and balanced for $26 per wheel. While I wasnt excited about spending $100 I feel it was worth it.

That's what I was thinking too. Watching someone do it on YouTube is a lot different than trying it for yourself. I hadn't heard too much wrong with balance beads but obviously they don't work for everyone.

Gotta try and save money where I can, but some things are worth paying someone for!

Balance beads are hit and miss. Back in the late 90s early 2000s we used sand bags similar to the balance bead ones these days. Had better success with them but still hit and miss and worked best with larger tires than 33s.

Got off work early....discount squeezed me in.

Not a fan atm, needs lowered and 3/4 to 1" spacers to be how it was before

The output is nice, but sooner or later condensation will form.

Bars got put on a week ago. Just cut the rack down and put her on today. I think it looks pretty sweet. Still gotta paint and tweak a little.

Yea, expanded metal. Had it covering the full sized rack i had but cut it down for usability? Idk yet lol. I've got an idea to make the a multi system rack. Tent, spare and kayak. Not all at the same time lol!

Kind of working toward a fairly quick swapping system between the 3.
