I just got the tsb in my 2018. It did NOT fix the problem. The two loudest spots pre-tsb are slightly quieter but still present. And now there are additional spots with the problem. All in all, I'd say it was better pre-tsb, but that's subjective. Either way, it's still howling.

Just so you guys have an idea I got the tsb done last week and my howling which used to be between 50 to 70mph and I could hear it with music volume around 20 to 25. Now I can only hear it around 60 to 62 MPH and only if music is off.so significantly improved

Interesting. When I get back from my trip, Toyota will be getting a call to see what is or can be done about this as it is not normal.

FYI-- If you have a very recent build date, the sound deadener is already installed on the C-pillars from the factory. This info came from my dealer, who got the info from some kind of regional service director (can't remember the exact title).

This is def outside my area of expertise, but could it be just a matter of adjustment or using different shims or even a counterweight to eliminate the harmonic sound? It looks like the leaf springs help radiate the sound which is why they get replaced in the TSB.

My guess would be yes, as they didn't change my springs and told me it didn't require them, as per the TSB/VIN #'s. Build date 7/18.

The only thing on the TSB for my truck was the new cab mounts. And as mentioned, it didn't fix the problem.

So after multiple attempts at a fix, yours is still making the noise?

Does anyone know if there's been any class-action chatter about this issue? Seems to be fairly widespread.

One guy got two new diffs and they both had the howl. Toy said it must be normal and denied the third. He traded out.

Seems to be a lot of OR models with the howl over at car complaints.com.
