So glad to say fuck yeah that’s done. Cage is complete. Just clean up and paint. I tied in the c pillar on the lower side of the cage.

So glad I don’t have to cut the front door panels. Just the back ones.

Thanks Brett. Yeah now I’ll be able to make it to Moab on one tank instead of stopping at GJ. Having a 16 is fine around town but for trips the 32 is nice.

Instead of buying upgrades for the truck I did the responsible thing and got a steering rack. I put it off long enough.

Put new energy suspension bushings in it before you install it, if you weren't already planning on it.

I already replaced them about a year ago. No need for new ones at the moment. But I will get new outer tie rods tomorrow from mountain states if they have them in stock. I put these on when I put the LT on. Wouldn’t hurt to replace them now and have these old ones for spares.

I saw that rack in the pic. I would love to run Solo’s upgraded rack but you need his kit to do so. So much  when I saw it. Your truck is going to handle nicely.

I keep trying to convince my wife to let me get the kit but as of now it’s a no :(

Just say you accidentally bought it....lol it's just a regular rack but with better seals from my understanding. The 2nd gen ones are the tundra racks.still nothing to special with ours yet. Would like to upgrade the steering completely but maybe in a few years. Have some other things I want as well lol

Maybe next time. Front bumps are good also but don't remember what you are running up front.

Well that fucker is in. Still need to torque tie rods and pull the reservoir on the pump to clean the screen. OEM power steering fluid is expensive but I didn’t want to put dex 3 in on a brand new rack.

You think Toyota power steering fluid is better than dex III or valvoline maxlife?

I'm thinking they probably just buy from the cheapest manufacturer, slap a Toyota label on it, and mark it up 200%

Your probably right. I use the royal purple power steering for years and it also took away the squeal I had on the pump. But I figure that I start with toyota fluid and top off with other stuff later.
