    In your case, I would stick to the factory caps. They are naturally curvy, like my women.

    I have these caps, and I had added 5/8” exterior plywood between the fiberglass and the camper shell’s original gasket. I believe @HomerTaco has done something similar. I also trimmed off nearly an inch of the side overhang of my shell to help with lateral clearence. It all worked out very well. My shell is a Leer.

    Curious if you used any fasteners to mechanically secure the HDPE in some manner, or just rely on the compression/friction of the shell clamps?

    I had the plywood laying around already. In fairness, my shell cost $40 on craigslist.:cheers:

    I ran a couple of counter-sunk stainless steel screws through the top of both sides to keep them in place. :D

    Fox 2.5’s up front, icon 2.0 rear shocks, stock leafs, !Meso map and dome lights make all the difference in the world!
    Looking at this to load dirt bikes and have more tie off points will it be able to handle that, I imagine it’s only attached to the bed with tape up front? Got a new Tacoma need to sell my 1st gen
