Just got back from doing 5 nights at Casini Ranch with the family. Place cleared out Sunday, and we pretty much had the whole place to ourselves. Had a 1/2 cord of oak delivered And almost burned through all of it. Made cinnamon rolls in the Dutch oven for first time.

 

Man that trailer set up looks awesome! Can I have one of those cinnamon rolls

We should. You an avid Dutch ovener? Only other thing I've made in mine is chilli and stew.

I have a 12", a 10" and an 8", I want to try triple stacking next time I bring them camping. I do scalloped cheesy potatoes, roasts, veggies, stew. Have been wanting to do a cobble for a while now. Did a Turkey in my FiL's 18" last Thanksgivings.

I use coal though, Haven't bought that tripod yet, want to try that one of these days.

 

Triple stacking..that's a great idea.

I've only had a dutch oven for a short time. So far I've only used it for baking bread.

Edit: Bread is super good but it's a pain in the ass to mix the dough. I want to bring some pizza dough (not make from scratch in the forest) and make pizza in it sometime.

 

Yeah I love dutchin'. Haven't done bread either. I did see a recipe for pizza I wanted to try though. (agreed, fuck doing it from scratch while camping, aint nobody got time fo dat)

 

That stand is heavy duty. The only I have sucks. Going to make a better one when it breaks

 

Dutch ovens... Pshhhaw. I rock the Camp Chef oven with double burner stove on top. Nothing beats a garlic bread style pizza after a long day in the boonies. I might also add that fresh baked snickerdoodles are a tasty treat.

 

I've actually been eyeballing a camp chef dual burner lately. I like that it folds up, I dislike having to bring a propane tank.

Idk how full your storage units are, but I normally just bring 2 little 2lb bottles in my tote and surround them with soft stuff (ponchos, oven mitts, paper towels, etc)

 

#wifey wants me to point out how heavy they are too...

 

I camp solo pretty often. I’m usually too lazy to build a fire and stare at the sky instead. My Dutch oven is a paper weighty most of the time.
I have a crappy Coleman 2 burner. It’s okay but lacks firepower. How’s the camp chef btu wise?

I have a 5 pound refillable propane tank on the back of the fridge slide I built. There’s a drawer down below I pull out and stick the stove on. Fridge slides out above with the propane right behind it.

 

Oooo I like that. Once I clean up the bed a little bit I'm looking into some sort of slide or something, then I'd definitely be in the market for a Camp Chef
