Same here. I ordered no Windows’s I plan on a wireless camera to my phone or iPad mounted to the rear extrusion.

And Like DoorDing. I’ve user side views only forever. Doesn’t bother me a bit. Those GFC windows are pretty small anyway.

you took the measurement prior to installing the GFC? I was hoping somehow the space frame would actually keep the bed from flaring out :( I guess more things to add to the mod list :p

In the rear due to the opening, the GFC frame is stiffest near the top. It might be a bit more stiff at the bottom compared to a canopy, but it won't help prevent spread as much as the stiffeners. They tie together the weak spot in corners of the bed.

If you feel like it could still be better try adjusting the strikers (I think that's what they're called?). I removed mine when I had a contractors shell with barn doors and no tailgate - took some fiddling when I re-installed to get it latching perfectly on both sides.

A valid point.... though it’ll make for a more interesting story/ adventure... guess the smart money is to leave it alone. Though a month should give you time to sort out anything.

I have the same cushion gap issue. Not as bad, and it hasn’t bothered me at all. I was worried when I saw it visually, but it isn’t noticeable sleeping.

I accidentally pinched the tent in the extrusion a couple weeks ago closing up. No damage to the tent seen. I was wondering why it was hard to close. I have noticed that it is much easier to close up if I spend an extra second pushing the sides and back of the tent in and away from the edges.

Is the gap there intentionally or for some purpose (maybe space for the tent material when closed)? Given the fit, finish, and precision mfg. of other parts of the camper seems like cutting the foam too small would be out of character for GFC.

Sounds like it - guess inspector #5 missed that on their final QA check.

I think you might want some gap, when you lay on the cushions it gives them a place to spread out from the load of a person. :notsure:

Otherwise they would buckle. Just a guess.

Or a failed QA inspection like above.

That is exactly what I have started doing. Works great. Closing camp in 30 seconds is awesome.

Is the RTT version the same size as the tent on the GFC?

If so, could you build a GFC with the style of the RTT, so that you and yours, could get out via way of the side doors and ladder instead of pulling panels?

Also as a data point for height.

    TRD off road
    Stock tires
    Second gen pro suspension
Wheelers AAL with overload in the back.
TRD pro skid, pelfrey the rest of the way.

Around 6'10" give or take 1" of height at the top of the camper .

Another one in the books, this time with the girlfriend. Definitely plenty of room for two people! I’m 6’0 and she is 5’6 and I personally like sleeping with my head towards the smaller windows and she liked sleeping with our heads toward the larger window. (We tried both) we had all the windows zipped up and it got pretty hot in there, but as soon as I opened up the two side windows the cross ventilation was amazing!
