Yes! She came home this past Friday. I want to say it ended up being 5 weeks total? It's a run of weeks we'd all just as soon forget :). The good news is she's back home. Now if that family could all be well at the same time, they'll be in business!

Those GrillGrate grates work as advertised. I didn't get one corner pressed down, so the marks didn't make it to the edge over there. Otherwise, if I can do this Friday, it'll be a satisfying entry in my first SCA event.

And the chart, again, for what a perfect 10 looks like in 'doneness'.

Screw the looks, though. It tasted damn delicious!

I think the bottom one is showing what dress shoes are made from. Odd they would put it in the same chart as steaks.

I grilled hamburgers on Sunday. Got distracted inside and by the time I remembered them they were extremely overdone. I'm talking black, charcoal like bottoms on them. I wish they were like the bottom one in that pic. I didn't have anything else on hand to eat so I said fu*k it, chipped off as much of the coal as possible and down the hatch they went.

I would like to add, in my defense, Scotch was a factor in my decision making process. Anywho, a few hours later that burger decided to make a hasty departure from my gut out of every exit possible. I couldn't eat anything more than rice, baked chicken, etc for 2 days after. Well done sucks!

IMO Grill Grates do more than make marks. The drippings hit the hot base and since it is only a half inch below the meat, add flavor as they... vaporize? I dunno what to call it.

    They say "vaporize" and "sizzle"

although I'm not sure how drippings sizzle below the meat and then "back onto the food" :notsure::D

    Hey Bud
I ordered one to try in my grill cooker, going to remove the expanded metal on one side and compare. If they work as good as everyone says I will start using them in my builds. Stay tuned.

Till they're hot.... :p On my pellet grill, when the temp hits 500f, they are ready to go. Also, steaks and burgers cook faster than normal, so watch it the 1st few cooks. My 1st burgers were quite well done. But they sure had grill marks! :)

Are you guys using these "grill grates" on gas grills or what? I thought this was the SMOKING thread. Take your salads and burgers and start your own thread like the crockpotters did. Rant over. You make "pretty" food tho, very photogenic.

Tons of pics on my old phone. None on new work phone. Solution to problem- change thread name, add words "and sides" to the end of it, and add "grilling" somewhere.
