Lots of dust and custom dents, Check Build
It'll be easier to adjust the coilovers on the truck.

And you won't find those bearings at any auto parts stone.

I replaced my passenger handle which broke apart completely about a year ago with a Dorman unit. All was well for 6 months when the drivers side one failed. So I replaced it with a Dorman unit as well. This was right as the passenger side one started not opening correctly. I unlock the door it opens about half way but not enough to "Un catch" the door. If I hit the unlock again it opens as normal. Annoying as hell.

I think it sems from the multi colored clips which hold the rods in place. Mine dont look that great and I cant find replacements.

I stand by the Dorman door handles. I posted a lot about my door handle fiasco on this thread awhile back but I had a few OEM ones break on me all within a couple months of one another...they all broke because the little black/plastic lip inside the handle that engages the opening mechanism is small on the OEM handles but on the Dorman units it's nearly twice as big. Hard to explain without a photo or video showing it. But ever since I got frustrated with how much it was costing me and just bought some lesser expensive Dorman handles, they stopped breaking. Been several months now and the Dormans have lasted perfectly.

The handle design is just weak to begin with...my original ones broke because the plastic handle itself cracked from use. The further away from the lock that you grab them, the more stress it puts on the plastic. Gotta open the handles from right next to the lock.

Yeah I'm really not blaming the handle, Im not entirely sure what the issue is. I assume its those little clips.

The door opens sometimes, other times it does as I described. There have been a few times when the girlfriend has been trapped in the truck where juggling the power locks has released her. Which isnt the worst thing in the world.

Found a pic, for me it was the red circled part...that black lip that presses down on the metal arm that opens the door. It would always start to slip and not engage the arm at all, but the Dorman units have a bigger lip that won't slip off.

But yeah I could see how those clips your talking about might fail and cause the same issue, if they break then they won't hold those metal rods that work the opening mechanism in the door. Not sure if you can buy those separate or not.

May be a job for electrical tape. In the near future I plan on deadening the interior so ill deal with it then.

    I've got too many projects.

Most on here will say go OEM but I swear I had the worst experience with those lol. I don't know if maybe there's another issue at play that was causing that particular failure to happen repeatedly on my truck, but the Dorman units finally solved the issue for me.

Totally understandable. I got to where I broke so many handles that I damn near cried when it would happen...got PTSD from it and was almost afraid to touch my truck haha. Had my doors apart so many times to replace those damn handles, so glad it's finally over *knocks on wood*
