Beasting at this rough wood shit. I'm all for being humble but fuck it, I do all the heavy thinking, not just on one, but three different projects happening at the same time. I'm down on the ground, taking lead on all the wall framing, taking lead on all the ceiling framing, do all the heavy math for the roof framing without a single mistake. Up in the air taking lead on the roof framing, managing my shitty cut man. I'm a beast!

Alright I'm done talking myself up. :transformer:

Is that Zip insulation or sheating? I like the taped seams. Since we’ve talked I’ve been spending my days at work listening to house building stuff. Have you ever built an ICF house? I’d like to do something like that but it seems very expensive.

I deliver it, yup, that’s zip sheeting. It’s definitely expensive but worth the money

Go in a house before drywall is hung. Compared to conventional sheeting it’s about ten degrees cooler.

They are a ton of time to set up, but once you start pouring, they can go fast. I prefer SIPs for time and insulation speed. If you spec them with the 1"-1.25" ZIP wall sheathing on the outside, you can set up an entire average house in a day. Roof the next. All the utilities are pre cut out and makes subbing go much faster.

Zip sheathing, I love this stuff, price is a bit more than typical OSB and tyvek but it performs 5x better.

As far as ICF, I've never done it since it can be very expensive especially for houses bigger than 2000sqft. It is relatively easy and a homeowner could do it himself, but if any mistakes are made, it is very difficult to repair later. There's a husband and wife on YouTube that went that route. No prior experience, the actual ICF stacking couldn't be easier, it was everything else that they had a hell of a time with and they could have greatly benefitted from having a competent carpenter on site. I'll dig it up and send you the link to their channel, it was entertaining none the less.

I LOVE SIPs! For a while that was all that we were doing but it seems that people building houses out towards this area aren't willing to pay for the energy savings benefits.... Back in 2011 and 2012, I went up to Dallas and then Colorado to do a few SIP builds because apparently there wasn't anyone competent in the area that could handle some of the builds we were doing.
