I tried searching Google and the forums, but couldn’t find anything. I know the jack and spare tire tools are located in the rear passenger side compartment under the seat, but how the heck do you secure the jack? I’ve got 2 rubber rings with the metal retaining clips, but I don’t see how to secure it in place without it sliding around. My truck didn’t come with the jack so I went and sourced one off Craigslist...

Can anyone snap a picture of how it is supposed to go from the factory?

I don't have a pic, but there should be 2 plates that stick up; one wide and one narrow, and you expand the jack to fit inside.

I’m not seeing any plates. I lifted the carpet and poked around as well and it didn’t look like anything was cut?

Wrong compartment. The jack tools go there, and the jack itself goes in the compartment behind the driver.

Ah. Guess that would help. Something like this then? Kind of a pain in the ass to expand it. I have the crank facing the steering wheel...

Post more pics of that tow light module. Those are rare.

Jacked up. You're missing the elastic tie down for it.

Your truck came with a factory tow package?

It gives you a four pin towing harness for brake lights.

I have a second tie down, but it doesn’t have the same spot welded attachments as the passenger side.

And yeah, I believe it did. There is a 4 pin hookup out in the back of it, but I don’t have/use a trailer. I also doubt it works cause I just pulled out 3 maggots from each hole...wiring is there though.

Ew. There was larvae in the pin holes?

Factory 1st Gen towing packages are very rare. Can you take a picture of your radiator fan? Legend says it's pitched differently than stock trucks to pull more air in.

There is a recall on those towing modules. Plug in your VIN here: https://www.toyota.com/recall

Yup. Those are uber rare. Check if your truck if it's on the recall list for the brake controller.

How is it a brake control with a 4 pin plug?

Yeah, I don’t know why. Just picked the truck up this week. Going through it now. Previous owner had it at Toyota for 3 months or something for a frame and then it sat for a month before it sold.

As for the recalls, it says there are none open on my VIN.
