Won't work on my truck. Short bed problems. Swap the sc over to your truck and trade?

Then I'll be too long for rock crawling. I already feel long with all my jeep friends.

Alright, I tried to do a quick search for a solid answer on this topic but I'm coming up short for what I'm looking for and you guys seem to be the most knowledgeable on suspension.

What is the benefit of going to a longer spring of the same spring weight, if there is any at all? Say I have 650 LBS 13" springs, is there a benefit of going to 14" 650LBS? I realize that you will have less pre load for an equal amount of lift but I'm failing to see if thats truly beneficial being you're adding an inch of spring length. Your input is appreciated.

Preload doesn't rely on spring length. A 13 inch long 650lb spring will give you the same lift when it's preloaded the same as a 14" 650 lb spring. The spring retainer will fall on a different point on the shock body, but you're still only preloading the same amount of turns for the same lift (preload = number of turns from when the spring is fully extended until the spring is compressed enough to give you desired lift). You run into trouble with spring binding with springs that are too long and if they're too short, they could limit your travel as well.

if you go a longer spring you will get cleaner travel out of it. like for me i started out with a 16" spring and went to a 18" and scenes the spring is 2" longer then the 16" spring it tends to work out better but if you go to a longer spring might have to change spring seat i have 2.5 8" with a flat spring seat so it ok to run a 18" spring

@Dalandser answer right on point ...

best thing you can do is maybe take some pic of what you are running so we can see your setup that way we know what you are working with :headbang:

    Yes
He's a 2nd gen 4wd so there are no options to change his lower spring seat or rod end etc, it's super tight and must clear the axle.

Soooo once I get my backhalf done...its steering time...gunna get a new tundra rack and machine the piston to width...port the servo valve to get a little more flow out of it and see if I can get it to work...
