Oh I know how to make grilled cheese.

I just have't had actual food in days.

 

How can you cooked grilled cheese wrong? Butter the pan, throw the bread on, flip it over, throw on the cheese, rinse and repeat.

I melt butter in the pan, and let the bread absorb it.

So you melt the butter separately in a different bowl, and then spread it on the bread? Seems like a lot of unnecessary steps.

 

I spread the butter on the bread and then put it in the pan.

Seems like you waste butter.

 

No you spread butter on the toast then grill it

 

How are you supposed to spread rock hard butter?

I slice a small piece off the block, and I let it melt in the pan.

For fucks sake. There's more than one way to make grilled cheese.

Why would I have a room temperature stick of butter? Seems like an awful lot of effort to 'defrost' your stick of butter when you can just slice off a piece of it and melt it in the pan.

thats what i do. i let the buter sit for 10 minutes to get softer first then put it on bread
