Hello Guys, I just returned to Ky to pack a little cooler wx gear. Spent 12 days , from SD, Wy, and down into NW Colorado. Coming back the last 2 wks in Sept. Going to spend few days around Leadville, then on down to Stoney Pass and Engineer's Pass. Ending up around Durango. Mostly camping but room every couple days to clean up.
I will post exact date heading your way closer to date. In new Super White DC, StormTropper edition , with the black striping.

If you're in Silverton or Durango at the end of Sept, there will be some music and festivities at SKA brewing on the 30th.

FYI - Sometimes those roads up those passes can close by the end of Sept. All depends on conditions.

My original plan was from the mid of Aug to the end of Sept. Retired so traveling. But due to unforeseen issue, I stayed in Denver after doing the NorthernParks , 3 days there visiting a childhood friend. Then onto I70 and east bound and down, then 64, and home.

I now can revise my packing, I think I had enough clothes to last a month or more. switching over to cool wx clothes, camping 50-60 miles off road, in the mountains will be cool at night. Prob be above the treeline a few times. Tentative routes include Engineers Pass and Stony Pass. After that, wide open for couple more weeks. Maybe can meet up with some locals for a greet.

As the plan goes now, the 3 and 4th week will be in Leadville for days then work SW . If the wx has closed those passes, just guess will have to find more or alt rides. Hope some of you locals will jump in and offer good trails or let me tag along with you. Even if it's just for a cool one in town.
    Thanks

Heading to Leadville in 2 days. Truck is ready and packed except for clothes. A little over 1200 miles from C Ky. going to stay there a few days and hit some of the trails and passes. Then head south , Gunisson , Durango, or wherever the trails take me. Prob spend next week in that area. No set return to Ky date, just whenever it happens.. Hope to run into some of the fine peeps on TW.

Leadville was the second largest city in Colorado back in the 1800s until the silver crash and barely survived to today.

Mosquito pass is a mild trail we just ran a few weeks ago. Runs from Leadville to Alma Junction which is in between Alma and Fairplay
