ECU TSB Update

Yep. And the biggest reason I didn't even attempt the dealers in my area. Tactrix cable ftmfw.

 

I attempted, but I had already ordered the cable before, cause I just knew it was going to be an issue. I'm glad I did cause I have helped a few others out having it, and will help a few more on Saturday.

 

The dealership said I could bring my truck in for a look....anyone have the link or picture of the software needed for the m/t so I can show them the TSB. I just want to have that duck in order

The TSB is attached to the first post. In the table at the bottom of Page 3 of the TSB, the last calibration ID for the 2016 - 2017 is the 04B12 ECU. That is MT only and gets updated to 04B13 by the TSB.

I printed the TSB off today so when I go there next time I have numbers and codes in hand.

 

Is it safe to use the free version of Techstream that is linked on this thread? Who here downloaded that software and used it to perform the update?

 

I didn't use that download, but I got my copy from the same site (slightly different version number).

 

And I had no unusual network traffic going over my firewall after install, so I'm confident it is clean.

Already kinda been done and people were freaking out. They were saying that the dealers weren’t following protocol or some shit. Triggered snowflakes. Lol!!!

 

Done! I updated mine during my lunch break at work. Less than five minutes total, a whopping 2:42 for the actual update.

Super easy to do and had plenty of time to drive around and check it out afterwards.

Was it life changing? No.

But it's definitely an improvement that's worth your time. (Not going to repeat what everyone else has already said, just do it.)

Wish I knew how some of you have so much free time to spend at the dealerships. I'm sure others will appreciate it when the TSB verbage gets corrected though so keep fighting the good fight.

Use my pics from my post. I showed to the service advisor and they flashed it after initial hesitation and denial.

 

Doesn't seem like just snowflakes were triggered.

Soo...anyone had any luck in the Bay Area yet?

 

Brought mine to the local dealer Ann Arbor, MI on monday for 20K service + the update TSB and leaf spring squeak TSB. I didn't give them any out, just handed him the TSB paperwork. they said they'd get it done. Unfortunately, they still have my truck, say they are waiting on the leaf spring silencers. I'm not giving them any grief because I have a 3" lift with AAL's, and they're still doing the work.
