Thanks Scottie. I told Alex I'd wait if necessary to get a set worthy of installation, and can only hope thats whats taking the additional time. Had I received them last weekend (just after he received the donors) I know they would have been wet, damaged, etc...

I sent him an email, and will keep you guys informed of any progress.

    Thanks for the props.

Fortunately (I think ) I have so many other projects and mods under way, the waiting doesnt really bother me. I just wish I felt more "comfortable" with the situation.

After going though all this, if I receive the lights in good condition, then everythings good..no sweat. If after all this they dont arrive, or arrive in bad condition...well i just might snap and have to drive to Orlando... Just kidding...I think... I'll let you know.

Well just got a response from PayPal in regards to my claim I filed. Below is the response they sent me.

After careful review, we have concluded our investigation of the Buyer
    Complaint described below.

We have decided in your favor, however, we were unable to recover any funds
from the seller's account. As stated in the PayPal User Agreement, recovery
of funds associated with a Buyer Complaint cannot be guaranteed.

Please know that we will make our best effort to recover the funds in
question if they become available in the seller's account in the future and
will take appropriate action against the seller

Looks like I'm screwed out of my $20. Hopefully you will get your lights and the same thing won't happen to you. As being out $20 is allot easier to swallow then being out a $190. Noticed Alex hasn't been on this site in a month, must be avoiding it, unless he logs in under a different user name.

That blows!! The worst part is, he knows Paypal cant recover the money...

I've sent 2 emails in the last few days, and for the first time since all this started Im not getting a response.

I have no choice but to escallate this to a Paypal claim, and only hope I hear back from him soon.

The following is my most recent email, then the email I sent (twice) asking for an update (which I did not receive a response), and finally the last email he did send me...

    Alex,

Unfortunately, I had to escalate my dispute to a Paypal claim. Until recently, you have been responsive to emails, and kept an open line of communication.

Please respond, and advise me as to your intentions. I have been extremely patient given your circumstances, and can only hope that you will reciprocate by following though as promised.

There is talk of you being banned on multiple forums. Although this may not be a major concern of yours at the moment, we both know this is something you would rather avoid if possible. As previously stated, if I receive the lights in good condition as promised, I will post pics and make everyone aware of the fact that you followed through. This would most certainly help your image on multiple forums, and at least give you the opportunity to respond personally and rectify the situation at a later date.

Just let me know whats going on. From 1 Floridian to another. I've been understanding and fair, and only ask that you be the same.

    Thanks,

    Craig

    Alex,

I wanted to follow up and find out the status of my lights, and when you think they will be shipping out. Any update is appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Craig

Isn't this the same thing he told you 2 weeks ago. No info on when he plans on sending them (not that I would believe it). Personally I think he should be banned from this forum and TN forum and any other forum's he does business on for bad business practices. I will personally let people know not to do business with him. After all you've been through I wouldn't care how good the lights came out I wouldn't recommend him.

At this point, I know the Paypal claim is pointless, as he doesnt have money in the account. So all I can do is keep pushing this approach, and hope he finally responds and follows through before the claim is ended/finalized by Paypal...

It sucks, and for all I know he may be out of town for work, or not have internet access if the "flood" story is true. I just dont know.

What I do know, is its fortunate (for him and I) that I have so many other things going on. After all the time spent giving him the benefit of the doubt, the 3 hour drive to the Orlando area is seeming more and more tempting... I have to pass through that area in a weekend or 2 to visit family anyway, and will give serious thought to "dropping by" and speaking with Alex personally.

Before I get to that point, I will try calling him as he did give me his cell # in one of his more recent emails (conveniently after it was posted here ). I just remembered this, and now feel like an ass for not trying him sooner:eek:

Not yet. I was in Chicago last week for work, and busy all weekend. I just left him a voice-mail tonight.

    UPDATE

Just as I finished writing a long, violent, hostile response expressing my anger and frustration, Alex returned my call. Sooo, I deleted it all (for now..lol).

He says he just got his house back together, and things are settling down, but he changed jobs & work schedules and now only has 1 day off a week.

He says he hasnt been online, and has been purposely avoiding the sites as he has been getting alot of "crap".

He promised to have them smoked this week, and mailed out by Friday. He also promised to call and let me know when their shipping out.

I will let you all know what transpires.

Sounds like same old song and dance to me. Seems like every time there is a different excuse as to why he doesn't have them done. Also he states he's purposely avoiding these sites because he's getting allot of crap. Well what does he expect, if he had any balls he would be on these sites manning up to his screw ups and trying to make things right. Instead he's a coward and hides behind his computer. I doubt if you'll ever see him on these sites under the same user name again. I'm sure he'll sign on as a different user in the future and will try and sell his wares again. Sorry for the rant but it just chaps my ass when people get screwed over from these type of individuals. Just my .02

Agreed. Most here are pretty fair and understanding. If he would have made even the slightest effort to inform others as to whats going on, and try to make ammends, I believe all would be good.

Unfortunately, we know theres no $ in his Paypal account, so any claim at this point is pretty much useless (atleast short-term anyway). All I can do is hope he follows through, and the tails are in good condition.

I will keep my word, and post pics of the tails (when/if I receive).

The whole situation sucks, and regardless of how this turns out I hope others are keeping track and think twice before purchasing...

Fucking scumbag!!! After speaking with him over the phone earlier in the week, he swore on his life he would send these lights out this week.

I told him that if anything came up, to be sure and either email or call, and keep me informed.

I havent checked my voicemail since Friday evening, so unless he "Magically" joined the human race he bold faced lied to me again...

Paypal awarded me the claim (I had to file) and, Oh BOY...the $26 in his account is mine... So I'm only out $167...

I have been too patient for too long, now the gloves are off...literally.

This ass-clown doesnt seem to grasp that I'm only a few hours away! I think its time I pay him a visit at home, and take my $167 out on him, his truck, his home, his wife (wonder if she can do anything worth $167?), his elderly neighbor, hell even his dog if necessary... Whatever it takes.

Tomorrow I'm giving his cell number to a friend of mine who will make sure it makes every spam-caller list in the country.

Then I'm calling the 5 closest Mazda dealerships to his house (as he "said" he worked at Mazda), and hopefully I can find him at work. A few dozen phone calls to his work from his "probation officer" or the sherrifs department following up on "child molestation charges" or maybe just a "gay crack whore" looking for my lover/dealer should help him at his new job...

Look out Alex...I warned you, now its my turn!

    Any other suggestions are appreciated.
