    Damn.

I'm sorry to hear this. Like everyone said.....the attitude you have going into any type of fight strongly influences the outcome. True with kids facing bullies at school......and true when getting into the ring with cancer.

My wife was diagnosed last year in February. She had surgery to remove it and then went through all the treatments. She held her chin up the entire time and not one time wavered in her strong approach to it. I'm so proud of her and the determination she demonstrated throughout. She's free and clear of it and taking the precautionary meds that will hopefully keep that type from returning.

Grab that cancer by the throat and choke the friggin' life out of it.

The kamado grills I've owned have been very easy to run. The ceramic versions have worked better for me than the steel models. They aren't as prone to overshooting temps and having to fight like hell to get the temp back down. Very stable.

This being said....I still wind up using my Weber grills about as often as the kamados.

The Weber kettle and WSM are very similar to kamado grills in that there are top & bottom vents and the food is above the coals. Once you figure out how to set the vents to hit & maintain target temps it's not hard to make some amazing stuff on them. Lightweight and easily portable.

Weber's customer service is freaking outstanding, too !!!

Sorry to hear that, my gramps went through that also and had to do the treatments. He was a strong stubborn bugger and beat it's ass into remission. I am a firm believer that our minds are a powerful thing, if you you fight it strong and keep taking names and kicking ass you will get better.

As said by many wise one's here and elsewhere FUCK CANCER.

So.....had a plan yesterday to cook a birthday meal for my wife. It was going to be a simple surf & turf deal for the two of us.

The kids were going to join us later on for dessert (Cheesecake Factory cheesecake that I topped with some fresh blueberries that had been soaking in simple syrup for a couple hours).

I was delayed and hour or so getting started on the meal due to some unforeseen matters. Turns out that lost time cost me my share, because my sone and his girlfriend showed up just as it was coming off the grill.

I'd done a hurry-up seasoning of the filets....olive oil, roostershire sauce & Dizzy Pig's Red Eye Express mixed up and caked on the steaks.

Weber charcoal chimney and a GrillGrate section worked like a charm.

I wound up getting a single slice of steak out of that meal. It was worth it to see them enjoy everything so much.

Thanks to all that have shown concern. I do believe that a strong mind is a huge factor. However as I stand right this minute I’m not sure I fall into that category.

That’s just the initial shock of it all. Talk with the docs, get a plan, stick to it, and beat this shit. You got this!

Understandable how it could shake your confidence.

You’ve show enough discipline though to get healthy I’m sure you’ll get it beat!

And I’ll mimic others on here it’s worth going through all the treatments and fighting!
