Thank you. Initially didnt see it, but he put the sticker for the tsb update on the driver’s side at the bottom, by the brake booster.

For those fortunate enough to have dealers with "good" service departments willing to update the ECU, no questions asked. Will you please post the dealer and its location for all of the unlucky Tacoma owners having a crappy dealer near....Seems that it might be a good trip even if it is a couple of hours from home.

Went to the dealer again with the TSB papers and Toyota Corporate on the phone. They agreed and proceeded to do the install. What did I get myself into? 5 Service Technicians looking at my truck like it was a space ship. They had no clue what they were doing or how to do it. They proceeded to plug in a computer and guess what? They fried my truck's computer. So now I'm without a vehicle and I have to wait until they ship in a new computer. They don't have any rental car so now I'm pretty much stranded. I had to take an Uber home. Should I call corporate about this? Or should I wait it out?

Absolutely call corporate. They should pay for your ride home. Realistically they should give you a loner vehicle until yours is fixed. That's ridiculous they bricked your ECU. Many of us have updated the ECU ourselves and had no issues at all.

I tried and the Torque app would not connect to the Carista. After some research, seems like Bluetooth LE isn't quite as effective on an Android phone vs an Apple. I ended up downloading Car Scanner on my wife's Iphone X and it worked perfectly. If I would have known, I wouldn't have purchased the Carista App on my phone along with the OB Fusion...

Got it from Scott Clark Toyota in Mathews, NC

They kind of gave me the whole "we have to duplicate it" story last Saturday. Ended up not being able to update due to Toyota's system being down. Apparently they have to communicate with the mothership.

So I brought it in today at around 12:30 and just got it back. Will post in later after I drive it some more.

This is what Car Scanner gave me. Calibration ID is not up to date correct?
