Parked my Taco, have steam coming out the tailpipe and threw a code for p0304 (Misfire, cyl#4). Pulled sparkplug and plug smelled really odd, turned it over with plug out and it spewed coolant (Toyota Red). So looks like either blown head gasket or cracked head. Damn Toyotas, only 248,000 hard miles! What kinda lazy jack-off auto mfg are these guys??(humor intended). Oh well, got a long weekend to get torn down and get heads over to be checked. Will post pics when head pulled.

They’re 2.5 Icons, don’t recall what the spring rate is. I think it’s six or seven hundred.

I have SPC control arms as well.

If you bought them new, they are most likely a 13" 650lb spring

Right. They’re #650, I bought them used but I recall the spring rate.

Thats typically what Icons come with. I swapped mine to a 14"700lb spring. probably should have done a 14" 650lb spring tho.

Would the 700lb sprints be better for you since you carry a lot of weight?

Hopefully the 650lb will suffice once I get my bumper and armor on.

The 700 was to combat the nose dive I was getting once i added the winch to my bumper. But I think I could have gotten away with just a longer spring, from 13" to 14". The 700lb spring is pretty stiff spring rate. F=Kx, hookes law. You can either extended the spring or change the rate. I did both, could lol Every setup is a little different.

Hooke’s Law. Haven’t heard of that in a while. Haha. Giving me flashbacks to AP Physics.

We’ll see how it rides once I actually put the front suspension on and I get an alignment. The Relentless bumper I have is about 100lbs? I have to double check. Won’t have a winch for a while.

I picked up more parts for the up coming repaint

Here's what I have so far for genuine Toyota new parts:

    Driver door
    Passenger door
    Vapor barriers
    Both headlamps
    Both front turn signals
    Both corner lamps
    Chrome door handles
    All new emblems
    Window tracks driver side
    Door check driver side
    Front grill
    Third brake light gasket
    Rear window gasket
A metric shit tonne of screws and clips

I don't think it will grow much more now, maybe a few odds and ends.

I wish I bought the assembled one. I have the raw materials for a full Relentless Predator bumper and sliders sitting on a shelf in my garage.

I’m not confident enough in my welding skills to assemble that thing yet.

I've found no real big difference in scheduled maintance pricing at dealers vs. independents.

I actually find the term "stealership" offending, and I don't even work for a dealership.

Rear swingout would look excellent. Who do you plan on buying it from?

Im thinking Ill just Fab my own. They are pretty simple in design. Kinda need one at this point. My next tire will be bigger and I want a full size spare, and Ill neeed the spare out of the way of the shocks once I move the mounts
