The gearing is whats slowing me down. Thinking of just saving up to do it all at once.. oh and I still need a lift lol

Roger that, gonna look into the numbers to see what the final drive will look like. My truck came with OEM 4.30’s, rough calculations indicate that’s around a 15% reduction going with 4.88’s in 34.8” tires. Still new to the scene so gotta do a bit more research on it, also wanna see how much the 4.30’s can handle.

After 30k+ miles I've decided to get new tires that are somewhat better up here in MT. Will be mounted next week.

Performance wise they are fine. Dirt roads they feel like they float over everything. Wear is good, I have over 30k and still have at least another 10k out of them. I just cant use them another winter here in MT. Scariest tires for winter driving.

They are discontinued now. If that's why you were asking.

488s was the best jump for my truck to get its driveability back. But now that I live in MT I wish I had 529s.

I am still on stock gears, probably about 5k miles on the 35s. I never drove this thing like a race truck so I don't mind the lack of power (plus I had a 2nd gen with the 3.0 so this truck still feels more powerful). I am getting about 18mpg and the truck can still get up and go if I put my foot to the floor. Eventually I'll regear, probably to 5.29s, but I have a few other mods on the list first

How are you doing on freeways? Texas speed limits are ridiculous. 75 mph in some spots. I live in houston and 65-70 is what i need for freeways. Im just like you.. i dont treat my truck like a race car at all . Thanks for your input man

Still on the 3.91 gears here. 4.88s are on the 2019 want list.
It's not terrible, but I don't wheel the truck hard. I find myself wanting more gear maybe twice a month. I currently have 12k miles on 35"s and factory gears.
