I gave them my VIN . They said my VIN is not showing I need the tranny or air con blower TSB. TO BE HONEST The power seems fine and my air blower seem fine for now. Sorry about yet another thread on this, but how do I handle this?.

Search your VIN on the Toyota site and/or the Toyota app to double check.

You can check the recalls and service campaigns related to your VIN on toyota.com and signing in the Owners section. Mine is showing the blower service campaign (see below).

It did say that notices would be mailed sometime in September. My guess is that dealers might be saving the upgraded parts for the failed ones before the rush of the service campaigns?

I don't have ACC, so the blower isn't doing the full spool up thing. No problems yet and am in no real rush for the swap.

The zeros and Letter O always confuse me. Letters I,O and Q are not used. Did you happen to use them?

Since a TSB is not a recall, and you don't recognize you have problems, I'm not sure what you need to handle.

A TSB is just a tool that points the dealer towards what to do for a specific type of complaint. If it covers a VIN range, that means they are pretty sure that group could be affected, but it does not preclude other vehicles from having that same issue.

If you develop either issue prior to your warranty ending, go complain, and point them to the appropriate TSB as a guide for remedy, while in warranty.

Once you are outside warranty, a TSB is still a valid informational tool, but it's most likely you'll foot the bill.

If everything seems fine then just don't worry about it now.

My bad. It is noted as a Service Campaign (editing other post). This is what comes up for my Taco:

Annnnd, this wasn't there a moment ago when signing in:

It just links back to the Service Campaign.

OK, that's different than a TSB.

And if your VIN isn't on the list, it won't be covered by the Service Campaign.

However, if the unit fails during warranty, it's still covered. Toyota is just guessing they've covered the spread with their Campaign. And they may have if they track installed parts at that level.

Seems like the big take away for the OP is to be happy he doesn't have a problem. If not on this forum, he'd have been oblivious! :D

Haha! TW makes hypochondriacs out of Taco owners. It's worth the affliction though!

Took my truck in for 20k service this morning and was told that the Blower Motor thing was a recall and that my truck was effected. However, they don't have the parts for it and will let me know when ever they can acquire them.

you may want to delete or otherwise not post all of your VIN. A dishonest person could use that information in the wrong way. Just saying.

IDK, skimming the TSB threads it seems this update will not only fix problems that you didn't know you had, but increase gas mileage, likely 0-60 times, and your overall chance of getting laid by up to 33%.
My truck is running with the ass end up on jacks, just trying to get it to the next scheduled service so I can slip this TSB and a crispy Benjamin into the mechanic's hand. :D

    Seriously though, I'm tempted.
