I'm interested. I haven't really done much research but is it just the shortening that needs to be done? For the porting I imagine reaming the holes bigger? I have a lathe and mill at home, and at work have a full blown CNC shop so I'd probably be willing to try it on my own as well.

What material/thickness do you guys recommend for a bed cage for a SUA setup. I wont say it will never be raced but chances are slim. I am also willing to do it right but don't want to spend extra money if I don't have to. Would rather put the money towards shocks.

I have dies for 1", 1.5", 1.75", and 2" material. From what I have seen 2" is pretty uncommon. 1.5" seems like it is used for the supports and braces but the main tubes supporting the shocks seem to be 1.75".

Is DOM necessary or can I get away with HREW. I won't be heat treating anything so Chromo is out.

1.75 for everything....and the cost difference between hrew and dom is negligible these days just do dom

Maybe elsewhere but here in Utah it is tough to get DOM from local suppliers. I can usually get 8' sticks from Ruff Stuff shipped cheaper than from the local sources but you are right, even then, I guess it isn't a budget breaker.

If it works, I bet you'll have a market to sell them and make some side money. I'll place my order now. Or better yet, be a second quality control guinea pig

Thought I'd ask here too. What turbo should I buy and from where for my 3.4L V6? Ebay has Precision and Garrett for about $1500 that's about my budget. Ive gone through 2 Chinese ones I'm done with that. Any suggestions here? I need oil and water cooled 3" vband.

For me my 13” 650 Springs we’re so compressed that the ride was terrible and likely had coil bind as well at bump. 14” springs fixed all of that

I know this is more of a personal preference question, but is it worth upgrading to long travel suspension on a RWD. Ive never really been in a situation where 4WD would be beneficial. I stay out of the mud and there aren't many rocks to crawl around here.

I do however have tons of dirt roads, logging roads, and sawmill roads that I run on a daily basis. I'm thinking long travel suspension would be a perfect fit for my truck. Is it worth the expense without 4wd?

That logically doesn’t make sense though, or I’m not comprehending it. If you have too much preload with 650# springs and carry a lot of weight, that’s when 700# springs are needed.

A 14” will give you equal lift with equal preload but adding more preload would likely cause coil bind?
