Finally got my awning mounted. Installed it late last night. Haven’t deployed it yet. It’ll work good in the dove fields this weekend! Hopefully...

303 is awesome for restoring faded black plastic. I also mist the wheel wells with it after a car wash - it dresses them so they’re pitch black. Saw a video once that mentioned how not doing this is like only getting half dressed in the morning. Now I can’t un-see it.

Did you powder coat the rims? Or did they come that color from factory?

Any chance you have a link to the awning you used? I'm looking to get this type of awning for our tow behind custom camper. Coincidentally, it looks like it would actually be a very similar fit.

Better yet, quit using wax altogether and switch to a ceramic product. I use GTechniq C2V3, first as a DIY ceramic application, then as a drying agent after every wash. Safe for use on all black plastic trim, headlights, etc. Water beads like crazy, and dirt/bugs are super easy to get off. I’ve using this product on my vehicles for 2 years...I’ll never wax again.

It’s the Rhino Rack Batwing. They redesigned it an just re-released it. It’s on a back order at the moment until October (per customer service at E-Trailer.com). I got the one on Amazon but it was the last they had in stock. You might be able to find one somewhere online.

Notice how the headlight’s axis tilts to the right, but the Baja light’s axis is straight, not installed as part of the unit / headlight axis.

Maybe it looks different in person, but to me, it looks “off”.

    No insult intended.

Appreciate the recommendation but I'm a big fan of Collinite and will probably never change to anything else.
I'm sure C2V3 is a great product but once I find something that works as well as Collinite I'm reluctant to change. There may be others that will benefit from your recommendation so I appreciate your input.
I'm pretty set in my ways at this stage of my life. :notsure:

Hello Tacoma_World! This is my first time ever owning a truck, especially a Toyota Tacoma. I decided I should start sharing on what I have done to my Tacoma. I never enjoyed writing, but I believe joining Tacoma World and sharing the same interest as others will slowly help me enjoy writing a little more haha.
