There are threads inside the load bearing section of the spindle. Looks like it's almost bottomed out too. Maybe its just the angle.

Anybody have an estimate on what it would cost to have spindles powder coated?

I installed the 2 inch Maxtrac blocks yesterday until I save the money for the Dakars! I fucked up my left arm trying to be He-man, so now the spindles installation is going to be painful. Anyway, I will do it today if the weather allow me.

I'd get Dakar leaf packs and be done with it. Will sit level and if anything you can always add a tiny shim if you think it gets too low.

Guys, after the 4inch maxtrac lift, is there any special suggestion for the alignment guy? Should I let him do the
alignment with the factory specs? I don't want to have negative camber in the truck and right now there is a lot. Any input will be appreciate it!

I've seen people recommending Camber 0, Toe 0 for 3 inches lifts. Does this also apply to 4 inch spindles lifts?

Many TW members recommend these numbers for 3 inch lifts.

    Camber: 0
    Toe: 0
    Caster: 2.5+

Are these numbers also good for spindles lifts?

A thought about Dakars. I found 4Wheel Parts to have the cheapest price and free shipping to one of their stores, so that's the route I took. Several vendors had the Dakars cheaper than 4WP, but as soon as shipping was calculated the price exceeded 4WP's cost.

Stock spec is fine. You aren't changing the suspension symmetry.

Why? The UCAs are staying OEM at this time. The spindles aren't changing anything other than the ride height.

That's with full blown aftermarket suspension (aftermarket UCAs, larger/longer shocks, etc) where the suspension geometry is altered. Hence the need for aftermarket UCA. They have additional caster built into them to allow for better alignments to compensate for the change in suspension.

Additionally, those specs are what's recommended on TW, but in reality you need to determine the best alignment for your driving style. You might start off at toe: 0, camber: 0, caster 3 degrees positive, but if you want to get the most out of your ride, you'll need to work with your alignment shop to fine tune the alignment settings to your driving style and preferences.

No worries, you didn't know! I had asked @sblspawn whether he was using OEM or aftermarket UCAs several days ago when he was asking about torque specs, so that's how I knew.

Think about it this way: when lifting your truck, you're increasing the distance from a fixed point (your rear axle) to a variable point (the frame/body of your truck and thus your transmission slip yoke).

Go directly from your house to the alignment shop. Your alignment is going to be fucked seven ways from Sunday.

    Every vehicle is different.

For example, several people solved their vibration issues with shims or carrier bearing drop brackets. I tried the same solutions and was unsuccessful with solving my vibration issues. What did solve them was adding the driveline spacer. I also have a full suspension (Icon 2.5 c/o front, Dakar with the DX29L overload leaf, Icon 2.0 rears, DK UCAs) which put the total lift at around 5.5" from stock. So in my case, there was a greater separation of the driveshaft from the slip yoke.

For as long as you can deal with the vibrations. Lulz.

Though you may change your mind once you install your ADS suspension and add more lift and change your suspension geometry.

Add more lift and that distance will increase.

I had a very slight vibration from take off, but the most significant vibrations occurred between 45-55mph and they were bad. A carrier bearing drop bracket and the driveline spacer solved all issues. Hell, I think we have the same suspension setup IIRC.

    PURE BEEF.

    ... Lol

    Hahaha awesome, man.
