I did not buy the brightest LEDs that Diode Dynamics offers (got the HP11, not the XP80), but they are brighter than the stock halogens. Plus, with the TaT mod, they all light up when I brake which helps makes it even brighter.

With all that in mind, I have definitely seen brighter brake lights (many were even stock), so I don't feel like the brake lights are too bright.

I don’t think there is such a thing of TOO BRIGHT for brake lights. Headlights/improperly aimed/cheap HID are another story.
The problem is the brake light has to be bright enough to see in broad daylight, but when it gets dark they seem 10X brighter. If they are still too bright, create a dual brightness controller so during the day the lights operate at 100% output. Then at night the same brake function only illuminates them 75%. Although I rather just run them at full output all the time :D

I've had some aftermarket LED brake lamps on my motorcycles that were way too bright. I felt bad for people behind me as they were engulfed in a deep red spotlight while waiting at intersections.

I would be adding a strobe/flasher module to the brake light if I were driving a bike today.

Ok thanks for the info guys ! I will get that kit with the HP11's. I definitely want them to stand out more but not be blinding. The factory design is horrible & triggers my OCD with the 1/2 lit up lights! WT :censored:

With @mesojdm 's new life plan, what's the thought on a couple easy taillight options? PnP T-as-a-T and just full C brake / turn? I'm in no rush other than dying for V4 turn signals. Hahahahahahahaha!

I’ve sort of kept my head low and been working on my own personal version of this. PnP for whatever I want/can think of. I’ve had a few setbacks and had to hit up meso for his Triton adapter, but I hope to put something visual up here as soon as I overcome one last hurdle.

    Sounds good!

What I am looking for is just the full "C" being used for brakes, using the reverse position for turn signals, and adding an aux light for reverse. I'm not feeling the need for switchbacks (and honestly, not the cost either?).

I hear you. More would likely consider TaaT except for the LED restriction that forces resistor considerations. I’m thinking more like write your own story method. As little or as much PnP as your idea dictates.

Has anyone using the Tritons tried their VLR6 load resistor pack for the hyperflash?

I'd defer to @mesojdm as he's done more Tritons (v3/v6) than anyone else I can think of.... But, everything I have read so far has indicated no resistors are necessary on the switchback. I would assume no issue on doing red on the uppers either, but I haven't heard anyone say they had done it. Maybe this weekend I'll stick the switchback in the top hole in backup mode and see what it looks like.

BTW, anyone considering them... VLED is 20% off (over $100, which Tritons are) and free shipping over the Labor Day Holiday.

Where are everyone getting their 9 or 10ohm resistors at? I check Amazon and they really don't have anything but 8ohm.

I did some research and got some here https://www.alliedelec.com/ohmite-850f10re/70023443/ because they were stateside. I had previously ordered some I found off Amazon but they shipped from out of the country and didn't let me know when they would arrive. This is why I ordered from the link above. I have an extra set of 10 Ohm 50w resistors if you want.

I got mine from Mouser Electronics, though Allied is great too. Not as 'user friendly' as pre-wired resistors from Amazon but it was pretty easy to solder wires on, and super cheap compared to the pre-wired units. Here's the link to the 9ohm 50w https://www.mouser.com/ProductDetai...kGVEm/dU/yQ==&countrycode=US&currencycode=USD

Only if the wattage of your use/draw exceeds the rating. 25w is plenty enough for traditional bulbs and LED is much lower. Your draw is probably around or under 10w.
