At TOTAL CHAOS we want to make it easy to maintain your suspension components! Our Upper Control Arms (UCA) are designed to be easily greaseable without removal from the vehicle or an alignment afterward. With just a few tools and a couple minutes of your time, you can be greased up and ready adventure!

NOTE: Do NOT pump grease into a UCA without loosening thru-bolt. Doing so will most likely cause the bushing to deform and require replacement. Please watch the videos below on HOW TO properly maintain your TOTAL CHAOS UCA bushings and uniballs

Hi, I just installed these this weekend and followed your instructions per the video. How often do the bushings need to be greased? (After install the paperwork accidentally got discarded)

    Thanks!

Some customers go 15k and some do it before & after every trip. Greasing every oil change (5k miles) is good practice.

No need to jack up the truck or remove the wheel and tire. Simply loosen the thru-bolt and pump grease into the zerk fittings. Once you're done make sure everything is re-torqued and you're good-to-go!

We recommend using a grease like Super Lube for our Urethane Bushings. Comment below if you have any questions

What is the procedure for greasing the Lower Control Arm bushings? Do I loosen the bolts first? Will that throw off my alignment?

I’m typing this sitting under my truck looking at the cam tabs, saying hmmmmmmmmm?

For the Lower Control Arms, DO NOT loosen anything. You can simply pump grease into the zerk as-is. The UCA's are the only ones that require loosening the pivot thru-bolt

For the UCA, it’s required to loosen the pivot thru-bolt to avoid pumping grease and building pressure that deforms the bushings. Is there some type of built in relief built into the LCA bushings that allow it to be greased without loosening the LCA bolts?

For the first full year, I didn't grease the UCA at all until I noticed the zerk fittings while rotating tires.. Once I realized I had to grease, well I've been doing it wrong and not loosening up anything. I was wondering why the bushing was swelling up, but I never thought twice and stopped adding grease once I see some of it get past the bushing.. The installer never passed any info. to me about this requirement.. :annoyed: How can you tell if one needs to replace the bushing?

The bushings can fold over the washers on the UCA. This is why we require loosening the thru-bolt.

The LCA has a larger surface area surrounding the bushings. It is still possible to overgrease the lowers, we recommend one or two pumps for this reason. Driving the vehicle will allow the grease to work it's way into the required areas.

Could you post a pic or two of your setup? Happy to see how the bushings are looking.
