You're missing the fact that an investor is going to take a look at their financial statements to make sure their 'investment' isn't simply a gift.

The NDA could have nothing to do with their financial situation. Lots of companies that develop products in a competitive space require employees and business partners to sign NDAs.

The mods should lock this thread until after Labor Day.

If he can’t talk about what’s going on, the NDA isn’t about designs. Don’t be like that.

Obviously an investment wouldn’t be a gift. If I were a betting man, it’d be a takeover. Again, don’t reach your over analysis of what’s already public.

    What makes you think takeover?

Have you seen the NDA? I've signed several in my life related to product development but they are generally blanket NDAs.

And what are you smoking with the 'over analysis' thoughts? This thread is 1 page of actual content from people that have some insight into what's going on and 8 pages of speculation. No reason to get tripped up by someone who comes in and suggests taking a break on this thread until more information is available.

This is my favorite internet sentiment ever. The whole reddit / wiki ‘have you seen it’ style argument. I’ve worked in analysis and production environments and signed plenty of NDAs myself.

You don’t get fired and be unable to speak of what went down because it’s a blanket NDA. They’ve gone off radar, and now their employees are being forced to stay silent about it.

I said if I were betting. Given their currently financial situation, an investor would be silly to not completely restructure / takeover that business. Good faith doesn’t pay bills.

Reading between the lines, and analyzing the tone of what info is available, I've come to the conclusion that my best option is to cut and run...
Which I dislike not only because I really like their products, but their reputation up to this point has been stellar.
Having said that, $1000 deposit is not trivial in my world.
The person I dealt with on the pre-order has been let go.
No one is responding to phone calls or emails.
The "official" statement alludes to a "do or die" situation as to securing funding to continue operation.
    My faith has been fractured.

I filed my credit card dispute an hour ago...

    Sad situation.

    One final note.
If they make it back from whatever is going on, once the new high clearance dual swingout is actually in production, I will not hesitate to order one.
I have been nothing but happy with all the Pelfreybilt products I have purchased in the past.

I really do hope they can work it all out.
They have been, and hopefully will continue be, a great addition to the TacomaWorld family that I enjoy so much...

The problem is people go into business without the knowledge and abilities not to mention the funding needed to be successful. Period !
No chance envilved , If your counting on chance save your money and put your 20-30 years in and collect your pension.

Some quotes from @Pelfreybilt to shed some light

Looks like too many open orders, not enough skilled workers to fill those orders and it's hard to hire good new welders. Couple that with the expenses of rapid expansion and it's easy to see how there could be a problem

Amen Brother! I think Michael was trying to let everyone know without saying it Pelfreybilt done ,over and out! I have thousands of $$ on orders paid in full! I cant wait 45 days after waiting 12 weeks already for them to let us know any info on what the heck is going on! I know of another dozen guys with large pending orders as well! I filed a dispute with credit card company and anyone else with credit card orders that are paid already don't wait around you better file a dispute before they file for BK or Just dissolve! I know they are great people and a great family business, but good people make mistakes that they never meant to happen but here we are! At the very least they should have made contact with people with paid pending orders! Radio silent is a sure sign of only bad things to come!

That phrase has become so cliche its literally a joke, which is why I find bizarre sounding coming from an established company that has nothing to with the typical start-up software/app-based companies that it's a cliche for.

I admire your optimism, I really do, I hope they come come through for all of you that have already given them your money. After having seen the Allpro shitshow and the Airflow Snorkel/MahaloTaco shitshow (which I was an unfortunate participant and wondering if I had money stolen from me) I really don't see any of this in a positive light, and I'm not the only one that's seeing this, so I know it's not just me being a cynical dick head.

    Good luck to you. :hattip:

Totally hoping for the best. Myself and a few others have been waiting since Jan/Feb when we got in super early wit deposits on the duals. Some update would have been great. Was just about to order a 31M battery tray too.
