For some reason when I was reading all the failures I thought it was on the Manual Control models but I could be wrong.

Had my blower motor replaced a little over a year ago and had to wait almost 6wks for a replacement. As of maybe 2 weeks ago I noticed my blower motor has started making more noise again after 13 months. Hope the replacement falls under this since I think the blowers going to go out, again, here soon...

Do you have Manual or Automatic Climate Control in your truck?

I took my truck to delaer for the “recall” this morning. And I doubt that they didn’t do anything, because I did a check mark with a permanent marker on the body of blower motor and it’s still there. I am not sure what need to changed, the whole motor or some the part inside?

Anyone know what exactly they change? Thanks.

I took my Taco to the dealer on Saturday with 24K on it to get the blower fan replaced again, I had it replaced at 11K miles due to a fluttering noise. The noise came back about 500 miles ago. Back when it had 11K they had the fan in stock and just replaced it. Now though, they have to order the whole blower motor unit.

I asked the tech what if it happens again in another 12K miles when it's out of warranty and he said that he really didn't think it would be an issue any longer (since they made changes to the unit) but if it does happen a 3rd time then it was all logged and noted so Toyota would continue to take care of it.

    So we'll see.

I have auto HVAC controls and have had it fail at 11K and 24K miles. I'm pretty sure they are ordering the same parts as this service campaign for me. I will double check when they call me in to get it installed.

Good to know as I'm in the same situation with the manual controls. The service campaign does not seem to have mileage or age restrictions so I would assume with not having those its not going to prevent a fix in the future if need(hopefully this is a real fix this time!) and doesnt seem like it would cause any issues. The campaign states it was made to the wrong size and has been corrected. I'm going to have to try and get in soon and get mine ordered before it goes out again.

Unknown lift, maybe 2" I don't know how to ID it, and would rather set it back to stock.
The fan (plastic) and the blower motor constitute one part number. The plastic fan is not sold separately. To replace your plastic fan, the entire motor and fan assembly is what is replaced.

Your sentence "and I doubt that they didn't do anything" wouldn't get past your school teacher as it's really confusing. What I interpret this to mean is I doubt they did anything. Is that what you meant there? Because if you made a mark on the body of the blower motor, and it's still there, then they didn't put in a new unit for you. I think this sounds rather ominous. Did you get a notification letter? Was your truck within the production dates listed and did all the parameters of the Service Campaign apply to your vehicle?

What did your paperwork say at the completion of the work? That would be an important document. Photo that and post it up for us.

Thank you mr. Opili59, I appreciate your input. I am so sorry about my broken english :), I just came to US about two years, I’ll try my best to improved my english.

And yes sir, I think that they didn't put in a new unit if its as you said the blower motor constitute one part number.

I did come back to the dealer and talk to the advisor and he told me that they only changed motor inside and not the whole case. So can’t argue with him because don’t have enough knowledge about what to be changed

Yeah like for instance this past weekend I took my dog on a walk he got overheated after about 30 minutes walking, it was about 90 degrees outside (dog has been overheating very easily after a bad episode of kennel cough last year) I rushed back to the truck to cool him down, it took the AC a good 30-35 minutes to cool down with AC on full blast on the LO setting

Mine too but it never gets as cold as I would expect with a new vehicle. Any idea if this TSB might help with the overall temperature of the air coming out of the vents?

Good lord. The AC is better in my truck than my wife’s 2 year old Volvo XC90

This is not a TSB, it's a recall. The blower motor only controls air flow not temperature.

Technically, it may be neither a TSB nor Recall, rather a "Special Service Campaign".

Apologies, didn't realize this was an ESL (English as Second Language) issue. Let me be the first to complement you on your abilities to communicate so well in a non-native language. I wouldn't even be able to ask where the bathroom is in your primary language I am certain. You're doing fine, and I'm impressed.

As far as the motor replacement goes, be comfortable in that they did do your motor upgrade. While I have taken mine out several times, I have not separated the plastic housing you marked from the motor inside. Apparently that plastic housing-the one you marked-does separate from the motor and fan unit inside. I know the motor and fan to be a single unit, but the visible plastic housing must be separate from the motor/fan unit. If I have to pull mine out again, I'll take a better look at it, as my inspection of that aspect has been cursory at best.
