Last I saw 60 & 80 gal Craftsman, CH, & Kobalt are no longer US either. Anything smaller than 60gal found for sale in stores are for sure China or mostly China. Even the US made 60 gal Harbor Freight model that I have is no longer US.

But then again US doesn't mean the same as it did. US makes crap just as bad or worse than China. And to be fair China can make quality stuff, it's our fault that most stuff coming out of China is crap, it's cause people want cheap.

I haven’t broken any Harbor Freight tools either. My gripe with Craftsmen is the quality went to shit after Sears sold out, and outsourced to Asia. They’re still charging name brand prices for Chinese made tools.

To each his own. I would never shell out the money for modern Craftsmen tools. I can just buy Harbor Freight tools of comparable quality at a fraction of the price.

Old Craftsmen is a different story. If I could travel back to 1985, I would fill my garage with Craftsmen tools.

Just because it’s on sale doesn’t mean you should buy it. Lol.

It’s for sale on a reason.

Sears is on life support, hanging onto the thread of life.

If it makes you happy keep buying it. Nothing wrong with that.

I’m happy with my Chinese made Kirkland/Stanley socket set. Hasn’t failed me yet.

Yeah, the outlet of my 60 I have 2 Norgren FRLs (filter/regulators). One FRL is connected to a line running up the wall to a hose reel. The other FRL is connected to a line running along the wall of garage that has 3 connections for my lathe & mill.

But one of those connections is connected to a 17 gal tank with no one way valve like you would find on an air compressor. The 17 gal tank was from an air compressor but bare, no motor or pump on it. I removed the one way valve & installed another FRL as well as a check valve for it

So the 60 just pumps up the 17, without the one way on the piggy the pressurs is equalized between the 2. You can get away with piggy back on larger compressor if not going too big. Depends on the size of the motor, duty cycle, & if the pump is halfway decent or it might not last long.

I've got no issue with China/Taiwan Craftsman except for the prices like Tyler mentioned. But as I mentioned earlier that's partly we the people's fault. But anyway, I've got my fair share of craftsman tools that I still use & like. No sockets or ratchets though.

Sears runs a lot of sales & deals & is when I'll buy Craftsman. Not much anymore these days that I buy cause there's not much that I want/need. Right now they have a spend $50 get $50 total cash back deal going in. I bought me a set of scrapers & body clip set. They've been desperate to stay in business but with deals like this they gonna go under real soon.

But whatever, Stanley/Black & Decker owns the Craftsman name now but will be sad to see Sears gone. Lowes is currently closing down OSH & was my favorite hardware store close to me. You should see the S/B&D stuff at Lowes already. Going to be a lot of S/B&D Craftsman stuff released next month so keep an eye out at Lowes.

I’m looking at getting a better auto drain. This was some cheap harbor freight unit installed many many years ago according to the PO.

I’m in the process of designing a hardline copper loop with drain points and a oil separator/drier. Just need to find time to do it.
