    Lots to come
Okay so i ordered and received a set of T-rex angry eyelids. Went to the local auto paint shop and gave them the color code for barcelona red. Picked up the paint...prepped them......sprayed them...........not a perfect match (a little too dark.....too much burgundy) I kinda figured this red would be tough to match up. So i went back and told them. He said he could add some tint, but they would need a few days and a part off the vehicle. So i'm looking around my truck thinking what the heck can i take off to take to them?

Anybody have any suggestions......the obvious choice would be the gas tank cover, but I can't see how to remove this.....or maybe the cover over the sat. antenna on top (but don't know how to remove this without damaging anything)

Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks guys

I know the tailgate is big (and may be needed at the time), but it does come off easy.

    Just a thought

The little strips of plastic that are underneath the headlights (between the headlights and the bumper) come off pretty easy.

Your hood, because in the meantime you can point your windshield washer fluid hoses off to the sides of you car and blast people with water!

Good call, thanks! I need to take a piece to get color matched too. Local paint shop guy said there was 11 different mixes for the MGM paint code!

Hey thanks for the suggestions...I did take the hood scoop off, but that looks funky...don't know if I want to drive around for 3 days like that. The little strips of plastic seem the way to go. I will have to look closer at them and see how easily they come off,

    Thanks again for your responses

You have to take off the grill to be able to get the strips out, IIRC. Then you can just throw the grill right back on.

Stick on hood scoop from Autozone.
The grille comes out in like 45 seconds. Do that.

You know that Barcellona Red is a tri-coat paint don't you? It's a base coat, mid coat and a clear. You may not get a good match with any single stage paint, and if it does match right initially, it may wear differently over time.

I also have BR and ended up taking my eyelids to a shop to have done as a tri-coat. They did my bumper at the same time, matches perfect,,, for now anyway :).

hmmmmm........ knew it was a tri color but didn't know it would be hard to mix up especiallly from an auto paint shop.

    thanks for the advice!

I have no doubt that the color can be mixed to a current match. My concern, on mine, was that they would not age the same.

Definitely your truck and your call though, just wanted to make you aware.
