Has it been figured out when or if any 18s came with this? My build date is 4/18 and I’m wondering if this will improve my truck.

Had the update done the other day while it was in for its 10k service. She said the tsb says high altitude. Told them I’m in lake placid ny numerous times a year (that is true). Summit is 4300 feet. I was like is that high enough? Lol. My paperwork says they did it. Dove it to work yesterday. Seems it is peppier but it may all be in my head.

The only way to know for sure is to simply check your trucks calibration ID# and compare that to the newest version we are all receiving.

Mine is a 4/18 build and had it flashed with the 62-18 a month ago. It drives like a different truck. No more dead pedal or hunting gears.

No confirmed reports in this thread of an '18 that had this out of the box.

Had mine done a few weeks ago up here in Canada. Noticed the difference right away in the city and on the highway. Put about 2000 km on it so far and it has changed the truck.

Only side effect i notice is my fuel economy.... No deadzone in the pedal. It holds 6th gear on the highway much better.

Its almost as if it doesn't allow the truck to shift into 5th right away and instead it holds 6th and accelerates through it.

City driving the whole truck just gets up and goes and i find myself having to back off. (45000km of "muscle memory" pushing the throttle almost to the floor to accelerate decently)

Overall great for me but i lost 1.5L / 100 km

Mine was built this past May and my dealer updated it to the TSB 0062-18 this past Thursday. Definitely made a difference. Taking off from a stop is much better and the throttle acts more linear. No more nudging or hunting in the 1000 to 2000 RPM in light or slow driving.

That’s interesting as most people have reported a gas mileage increase.

Thanks for the info, what did tell them? I scheduled an appointment and told them it’s stumbles at takeoff from time to time. Hopefully they just take care of me without test driving my truck all day.

Im glad that folks on here were commenting about what I was experiencing. I just told my dealer's service dept that my truck hesitated when trying to pull out into busy traffic and that there was a nudging or hunting between 1000 and 2000 RPM in slow, light traffic. The hesitation pulling out from a stop sign was kinda scary. Hit the gas and nothing for a split second. Years ago at work I had a '05 Chevy dually utility bed 4x4 and manual tranny. Trying to start out uphill from a red light was a real adventure until the ECM was updated. Stalled that thing a bunch of times. Off road sometimes it would shut down to a low power mode and just idle trying to climb a hill. Hahaha, the only way to get it going again was to shut down, remove the key, get out and shut the door. Only then would the electronics allow you to restart and get full power. This kinda stuff happens.

How do we ping the Mods? This thread needs to be a Sticky. I think enough of us have had the TSB done and agree it is a great improvement. NO ONE on Tacomaworld with a 3rd Gen should be driving around without this TSB done. I love my truck even more now. It drives great!

@AWDDude, you may want to attach the pdf to your original post, in case the Mods do make it a sticky.

I got the fix on the day after it came out. not sure how many miles i put on it but its a good amount. Most of the old habits have come back. The shifting is smoother coming out of the "stumbles" (which are now less harsh but still there). Hunting is still there but its alot better. Basically everything has come back but to much less of an extent. Its no where near perfect fix but its totally acceptable to me at this point.

Nice. Do you encounter hilly areas any where during your regular commute?

That man's truck is traveling with a blessing from God, AC off, fresh wax job, tonneau cover and 120 psi in the tires.

I encounter hilly areas and I'm getting under 15mpg with and empty truck, no passengers and a half tank of gas. lol
